I had a delightful surprise staying at the Taksim Star; very impressed by the room, soft yet crisp sheets; the bathroom was really clean, too!! The entire room was designed remarkably, very stylish and ingenious use of space. Very helpful, friendly and courteous staffs, and the location could not be better, near everything. Tha location was fantastic! 2 minute walk to main atteraction areas restaurants cafes, metro and tram! Nwely renovated 19th century building with high ceilings, decoration authentic! Extremely comfortable bed! Hot water! Friendly and so helpfull staff!.

We had an upgrade the first night, but they told us to move to another room the next morning. So we had to pack everything again. The card for the light in the room didn't function. So we called the reception for help. They said: "Oh, that's a problem, but my friend isn't there, so I hope, when he comes back, he can help you." The result is that we were sitting in the dark. Not very professional. Noisy neighbors in room next to ours. my room was of too small toilet. Nothing. The room is too small even no space for lagguge. Fire alarm went off at night, and until we checked with the reception no announcement was made to tell that it was a false alarm. There was panic for quite a few minutes. I would like better facilities in the hotel eg. laptop facilities, breakfast room was too hot the air conditioned was malfunctioned, it would have been better if we had breakfast on the terrace with the view of the Bosphorus. noisy in the night. To my very surprise instead of a suit, I was given two very small double room, without any refund, the staff were very irresponsible for advertising a suit that doesn't exist, during my stay almost every day , hotel guests were arguing about some problem with their room, really disappointing experience. The flush was not working and had to be fixed everyday. Towels and sheets were not changed. Room was not cleaned properly. The window did not close properly and had to be jammed closed. Most of the time, the room key cards did not work.The staff was not able to fix any of these problems. Overall a lousy hotel.
