We loved our stay at Penelope's Guesthouse. Penelope is a great host, she recommend great vineyards for wine tasting and offered great assistance whenever needed. She offers a great full breakfast with fruit, croissant, yogurt, cheese, eggs, etc.. The breakfast is served on her garden terrace . It is very, very clean. The rooms are very large and well equipped. It was a pleasure to stay at her guesthouse and I will definitly return if ever I we have a chance to. I highly recommend this

The staff was exceptional and the place is absolutely stunning. Apart from the bathroom the rooms are cosy and comfortable (and well equipped). The atmosphere is relaxed which we enjoyed very much. The wild mushroom was outstanding. We stayed for nearly three weeks and it fell like home. The manager could not have been more helpful and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were extremely comfortable and clean. Sitting by the swimming pool and looking at the view was wonderful. Did not want to leave and will defiantly be back soon

The personal touches were very nice (e.g., turn-down service that included port). Check-in was incredibly efficient -- we were in our room within about 45 seconds. The location in downtown Stellenbosch is fantastic -- across the street from a beautiful church and just one block from dozens of cafes and restaurants. And, of course, it's convenient to tons of wineries. Breakfast was served promptly, was delicious, and included everything one could want. This is a great guest house.

What's not to like?
The hotel is in the one of the most beautiful spots you've ever seen - surrounded by mountains on every side.
Even though it was freezing at night, the room was nice and cosy and warm.
Comfortable bed, huge spa-bath, extremely well-priced accommodation - oh and for breakfast we had the best bacon I've ever had.
