  The staff were probably the most helpful I have come across in 30 years of travelling the world. They even tracked us down by phone to tell us that a museum we thought closed at 9 was to close at 7. The decor of the hotel is great and although like all canal side town houses the rooms are small, they were well laid out and of a high quality. Our room was pretty small, but to be expected from a city centre hotel, especially in Amsterdam, however it was immaculately presented, beautifully decorated, and the bed was so comfortable we nearly didn't make it up in the morning. The staff were wonderful, and we will be going back.

  We loved the fact that the room was absolutely silent and bliss for a good nights sleep. The large size cosmetics were terrific as it meant we could enjoy a proper bath without running out of bath foam! The breakfast room is very grand and overlooks the manicured rear garden. Staff are extremely polite and will go out of their w - All of the staff were gracious and solicitous. Our room, though without a canal or garden view, was beautifully designed and exceptionally quiet. One of the reasons we chose Canal House was the garden which exceeded our expectations as a comfortable and beautiful place to chill out, read and enjoy a pre-dinner aperitif. As I needed to rest my foot one day, it was a particularly welcome amenity.

  The location of the hotel was really close to all the hotspots within Amsterdam! The breakfast was simple but it was great for the money and it filled you up and got you going for the rest of the day. The toilets and shower were clean the majority of the time minus a few when it had just been used! And the beds were very comfy. In my opinion for the money it was a great place to stay when visiting Amsterdam! - Staff were always friendly and happy to help with anything. Wifi was available in the room and the breakfast was always good. The room and all the toilets and showers were extremely clean. I was a little worried about shared showers but caused no issues at all. This couldn't be better located, 5 mins from central station, shop right outside, restaurants close by and bike rentals available right outside. 10 out of 10

  Indeed my family truly enjoyed our stay in your hotel. All your staff have been wonderful during our stay there. I would like to especially commend Lisa for helping arrange our tour in Amsterdam. She was nice and efficient in checking us in in an instance as the rooms are all ready and check in packets are all ready at the time of our arrival. O... what people say » n the last day Priscilla checked us out and helped get a taxi for us early. Unfortunately the taxi company messed up and was very late and brought a - - Ideal location. Going on an evening stroll amongst some of the most beautiful canals ever created, you'll find yourself amid some of the most intriguing sites Amsterdam has to offer (Ann Frank House, Van Gogh Museum, Dam Square...). At the same time, this Boutique Hotel is located in a part of the city which has such a neighborly feel, you'll find yourself wishing you a resident rather than just a tourist.   The staff was wonderful. Our refridgerator had a problem but they came within minutes to correct. We blew a fuse at 5 in the morning and again there in minutes to fix. Access to the hotel facilities was great too. But the staff is fantastic. There to help you and so friendly. Loved it. - Location and luxury

Very interesting European hotel with a lot of character. Room and bed were comfortable with excellent housekeeping services every day. Luggage check room was available to store my luggage since I arriv... what people say » ed early in the the morning (7:30AM). - The location was great (about 2mn walk to Centraal Station, right next to the shopping area, restaurants and bars, etc...), friendly and helpful staff, nice varied buffet for breakfast, quiet hotel considering the location (even on New Year's Eve!), all facilities provided in clean and cosy room. We will definitely choose The Avenue hotel again for any future trips to Amsterdam.
