The friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are so polite and helpful. The location was excellent, central without being noisy. the rooms were small but had everything you needed, were safe, clean and warm. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel has an excellent location near to the museums yet in a quiet street with a small garden behind. Our room was clean and spacious and the staff were all very helpful. I would throughly recommend this hotel.

Three minutes of walking up to museums and up to the central area of city. I had a friend stay with me for a couple of nights out of 5 nights I had booked, and they let me stay in the double room for the single price after she left so I would not have to change rooms again! The rooms are kind of small but the place is very clean and comfortable. Also, free internet and computer to use!. Very helpful staff sourced a breakfast item for a special diet. Also helped with minor first aid after an outside fall was experienced. Quiet location right next to Vondel Park and within easy reach of central Amsterdam. Would definitely stay at the Owl again. We know from previous stays at the Owl there is a much larger quad (4 people) room one floor above the quad room we stayed in. We were a little disappointed we weren't allocated it. However, we didn't question it as we knew the hotel was fully booked and we were fortunate to having been given the opportunity to stay there.Breakfast always the same, no fresh fruits...only orange juice, novariety (but very good nevertheless). WiFi should be added.Wireless Internet is reasonable compared to some hotels but in my opinion should be free in all hotels. Breakfast was poor. rooms are small and basic - had no mini bar, for example. Would have liked having kettle, coffee, tea available in room. Also, no shampoo. Fresh fruit at breakfast would have been nice, plus some muffins and/or croissants just for the variation.Rooms were quite hot. The room really lacked facility to make hot drinks. none. building is not new. The tiny lift, but thankfully we were on the first floor, so we just used the stairs mostly.
