I was able to sleep all night, very quiet Hotel, staff is alaways eager to help with any questions. clean. Helpful staff, warm,clean and accessible to sights. Nice rooms. Warm, nice bathroom.helpful staff. the friendly staff and the fact it was near everything i.e shops and nightlife. Nice view out of the window. great value for the money, very clean, we stayed an hour past check out time and nobody said anything about it, no curfew, privacy.

Stairs and luggage = disaster.no window in room and no knowledge of this prior to staying in the room.would not have made this booking had iknown the room had no window or natural air or light. No elevator and no help with the bags..also that we reserved two sepparate beds and got one double bed instead.Not easy to be found despite not too far from the tram stop. our room did not have a window, which was not a problem in itself, but there was a heater supposedly in the floor which the staff didn't know how to turn off which led to a very hot room that we couldnøt do anything about. the room was in the basement, the humidity was high in the bathroom. Bit noisy at times, no lift at all only steep stairs, bar in hotel was quite expensive, no tea facilities in the room.Even though there was a lock on our door, when we locked it they were still able to come in our room, and also when they knocked on the door to come in and we said no thanks, they still came in anyway. This was the second time i have stayed at the Hotel, the first time everything was fine.On arrival this time we were shown into our twin room only to find it was a double.we were then told no other romm was available, it wasn't until i pointed out that we had booked in march that they found a room for us.the breakfast was not good, the hotel was very noisy and the staffs were not so helpfuly. We have stayed at the Quentin England 3 times now but I do feel it is getting a bit pricey for one night - 92 euro's for a two star hotel. Having said that I have booked another triple room in February. We are three English Ajax supporters and have been coming over to Amsterdam for a number of years but used to stay near centraal (Damrak) station area.hotel in desperate need of modernisation, our bathroom and bedroom ceilings had awful water leak marks, french doors did not close properly so not secure and curtains infront of it were heavily ripped and soiled. room is tiny. water stand in showers )-:. the work out side the hotel was bad the workers drilling from 7am that was out of order and none ofthe 15 lads were happy about it. the single room only comes as smokers' room, and the smell is unbearable, even the linens smelled of smoke; no towels provided. Surprised room was not cleaned every day - I used the same towel for 4 nights. It was also quite expensive for a downstairs single (190 Euro for 4 nights). And they charge 5% for payments by credit card - that is far to expensive. Luckily an ATM is nearby. Basically its a Hostel masquerading as a Hotel - BUT, I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again. My room was very tiny, i've never seen such rooms before - it was morelike a wardrobe - 2x3m, really!. the rooms are not the best condition. no lift, lots of stairs and steep too. quite old sheets and beds... noisy at night, if you arent a heavy-sleeper like we are. :). The difficulties associated with menial tasks such as storing luggage,obtaining a functioning remote control for the television, or obtainingadvice for eateries or sites.The reception staff were very poor!. Parking is expensive and poor.Room was very untidy and was not cleaned during our stay. also asked for a double room which I was disappointed to see had 2 single beds pushed together with 2 single duvets on them instead of a double one. Room looked nothing like the pictures on the internet. The stairs were windy and could be dangerous. No assistance offered to elderly lady with suitcase lodged on the top floor. Rooms small and shabby. Breakfast poor value.Worst room I've ever had the misfortune to stay in. Bathroom was about 6ft by 4 ft containing toilet AND shower. Bathroom door falling off. Water came in and out of bathroom by contraption that made noise like a lawnmower every 30 seconds. Hole in shower wall. Basement room, like of a dungeon. 1 staff member was rude. Space under door. No way to turn up T.V. Charge for credit card. The rooms were unclean. The bedding in particular was stained andseveral of the party suffered bites from fleas or bed bugs! A room wasreserved and then we were told it was no longer available. The relevantguest was asked to sleep in what could best be described as a shed. Hetoo received bites either from bedbugs or fleas!. Dirty, pokey former closet pretending to be a bedroom, questionable bed linen, no window and an old noisy dusty fan to provide a breeze, bathroom fan like a turboprop. Staff arguing with each other, complete lack of friendliness from them. This is a pit of a hotel with almost no redeeming features. .
