    The Black Rock was the delightful and invaluable base for the best family vacation we have ever had. The hotel helped us book incredible whale watch and kayak excursions, and the staff u - While pricey - this resort is worth every penny - the rooms are beautifully appointed with excellent views of the bay, ocean or forest. The Wild Pacific Trail is easily accessed and enjoyed from the lodge. The restaurant and cafe were well priced with excellent menus. Ucluelet is a great town for wildlife viewing - stay around this area for the best chance at sea otters.

    What a classic! I loved it and felt that I was a part of the real Victoria that many never see. The quiet location within walking distance of the downtown and transit to the rest of town was great. The staff did not fall all over us which to me is more comfortable than being fussed over. This gave me a chance to walk down the wonderful staircase admire th - Firstly, one needs to compare the day rate between the Empress and the Inn. The Empress is only a few blocks away, free parking, free wi-fi, also doesn't have air conditioning....and is almost $300 more a day. As I didn't need to spend a lot of time in my room, the size didn't matter. However, security and cleanliness was key and the Inn met those very well. The restaurant is excellent.     The honeymoon suite and similar oceanfront suites are superb...spacious, warm, inviting, inspiring, romantic, tranquil. The food preparation is exquisite with a generous menu variety. The wonderfully groomed landscape and gardens are a very special part of why we choose to return, as is the ocean vistas.     I love the Sidney Pier.I check in the night before the long flight to Toronto and a hectic week with young grandchildren.I check my frozen halibut at the front desk which goes into the hotel freezer,give them my car keys and leave my car in underground parking for $5 a day,have a special dinner at Haros' or across the street at the Pub.A hot bath,... what people say » a good sleep,a taxi to the airport with frozen fish in hand,and this Nana is ready for almost anything. One more thing.Real creamers in the mini fridg - The first thing that impressed us was the attentive and accommodating staff. Then it was the cleanness if the hallways and rooms. We also thought the design and the colour palettes were pleasing, restful, and reflective of a seashore setting. Finally.     The rooms were very clean and inviting, staff friendly and responsive. The motel reminded us of an old fashioned motor court, right out of the 60's. We had a great night's sleep. - Easy to access-park infront of your room-recently renovated-clean-good sized room-staff were very nice-asked for a kettle and they brought us a choice of two.
