Hotel Domizil far exceeded my expectations. The minute I walked through the door (late at night having arrived from a 13+ hour flight from the states) I felt welcomed and safe. It had a good "vibe" and that "vibe" stayed with me the entire stay (I stayed for 6 nights). The room was super clean--and I mean SUPER clean. I've traveled extensively in the states and abroad, and Hotel Domizil was the only Hotel I have ever stayed in that was "squeaky clean" day after day. The attention to detail when.
all reviews » When booking I asked for a nice room as it was our anniversary. We weren't disappointed. They gave us a beautifully furnished, spacious room with a love sitting area and the staff had left a little bottle of Sekt and two flutes on the table with a note wishing us many happy returns. The bed was big and very comfortable, the white bedlinen spotless. We had tea/coffee making facilities and a minibar. The bathroom was spacious and also spotless. The breakfast room was a delight to sit in with a su. The hotel was located in a good area ...close to downtown shops and sights. The woman at the front desk was incredibly helpful in assisting us to book a ride to Cesy Krumlov. The trainee young man was also helpful and the restaurant staff was nice. HOWEVER, the man at the desk at night and one woman at the desk were both totally unhelpful. Again, the woman at the front desk when we were trying to book a shuttle called for us, but the man refused to even tell me how much it would cost to call. The staff was exceptional. They were friendly and very helpful. Ther was an extensive breakfast buffet with something for every taste and eating regimen, including vegetarian and paleo. The location was perfect and less than a 2 minute walk to St. Stephan's. All of the main walking streets, restaurants, shopping and Vienna attractions were an easy 5-10 minute stroll. Central location within 5 minute walk to St Stephens and train stop to/from airport. Comfortable room, very good breakfast, easy access to all Vienna sites. Friendly, helpful staff. Many fine restaurants close. Try Zum Bettelstudent at corner of Johannesgasse and Schellinggasse - fine pub with good food, good value, good service. A very friendly and comfortable hotel which enhanced our Vienna experience as we looked forward to our son's wedding. Great value for money and ideal location, within yards of Mozart's house. There is no A/C so you have to open the windows wide which was fine in our first room, on the side. But the second room was in front and somewhat noisy on a Saturday night. there's nothing to complain for, really!. Most of the staff was obliging except for one at the reception who was obviously under much stress . You have to be rung in late at night - I don't believe there is a way to open the door yourself. This is really not a big deal. Nothing. The overheated rooms and the narrow spaces in the breakfast hall was a little inconvenient. None. Nothing. Poor design of the room (206),. narrow bed. There was nothing I did not like. nothing. Parking can be expensive but the hotel is right downtown. If air conditioning is important to the traveler that fact must be made known as some rooms are not air conditioned. It could be a problem in warm weather. problems with wi-fi on the fourth floor. Breakfast need some improvment. Very slow internet connection, lack of printer. Wireless internet was low in signal strength, lower than neighbor hotel's. -. in summer fans or airconditioning would be great. bed is too small. Breakfast could be better not great choices. Poor breackfast, very small rooms and beds.. No air conditions.. Old-style keys ... 2 people sharing a room cannot easily go back to the room after midnight w/o special effort to enable the room to be opened by the receptionist. No minibar room was facing a street, there were taxis driving till 5Am. As there were no air-conditioning in the room we had to open the window - noise was annoying and unbearable - we could not sleep till early morning. No parking option, there is no information about additional cost of parking - 32 eur.
