the position of the hotel, design , comfort and trendiness....its quirky and has style....will try restuarant next time. ..got a taxi to birkenhead factory outlets $15 then back to darling harbour and drinks, dinner ...walked back ...took about 3 mins....up early,,and off too airport....via airport shuttle...comfy bed,,,did the special...shoebox...was just fine...thanks guys,,,stored our bags as we were early...great stay,,,,will be back...all reviews
First impressions are always good ,I felt that as I entered reception, staff very helpful, dress code gave me a more relaxed casual impression which was good, rooms were just lovely,very modern,spacious & clean. pillows & mattress are always a priority, (couldn't have been better)I even checked the brand name, for further purchase.Would certainly stay again when next in the city.
Absolutely fantastic staff. They were so friendly and helpful, both reception and restaurant staff. Nothing is too difficult for them and they are the epitome of service with a smile. Location is great, right behind the Darling Harbour restaurant strip and the hotel itself is stunning. The hotel itself has a wonderful feeling, keeping the best of the old but adding new modern touches.
Hotel was very modern with a olde world touch.Rooms were good size with a wonderful comfortable bed.Facilities in the room excellent.Bathroom and shower perfect.

Great location as you can walk to all the major attractions around Darling Harbour and Circular Quay. The hotel is an old wool warehouse converted into an arty space with a lot of character. It's refreshingly smaller than the usual large colourless hotels. The breakfast is excellent in an intimate area using mainly organic products.
The Staff there are fantastic, I loved the bed it was so comfortable, the place was lovely modern Chic with a little bit of old world charm.
The room was beautiful with a mixture of clean crisp whites, rustic Wood with a slight touch of black.
Definitely I would recommend this hotel to family friends and business associates.
The whole boutique feel made us feel comfortable, the architect has done a terrific job of mixing old with new, crisp white linen and comfortable beds, free WiFi and large screen end of bed with CableTV, roomy bathroom with latest fixtures. T2 teas and expresso coffee bags was appreciated at the end of the day.

awesome! Bathroom soap/body wash was excellent! (Bought some at the
mall and brought back to the usa with us!) Will definitely stay here

The front desk staff was very helpful when there was a problem with the air-con in my room as it could not get lower than 24 degrees. The manager, Thomas (if my memory did not fail me) upgraded us to their loft. My friend and I appreciated it alot and couldnt have thank you enough.
The stuff was very much friendly from the very beginning, very nice welcome, offered us even to change the room for the one with the street view the day after checking in, helped us with lots of information. Very nice and good young team ! Keep going and you will rock it guys !.
We loved the very cool decor, set a great mood. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, and were so cheerful. They seemed to be having fun at work.
The room was small (as expected) but the clever layout meant it had everything we needed, and the bed was divine.
The hotel is new and stylish. Rooms are great, with a comfortable bed,
iPad with information about the hotel & Sydney and a rain shower.
Wifi is included. Staff were very helpful and a shortcut through the
parking takes you straight into Darling Harbour.
This hotel is in a perfect location to see Sydney on foot or 'Hop On Hop Off' bus. The staff was very interested in how to make my stay in Sydney memorable and recommended several activities. Room price was a great value for the quality and location.
Flew to Sydney for wedding. Wedding was at 2 pm. Hotel staff bent over backwards to ensure we were checked in well before check-in time. Staff were vibrant, helpful, friendly and knowledgable. Hotel facilities fantastic. Well done.
Fantastic .The location is fantastic. The whole experience of the historic transformation of the woolstore - '' breathtaking'' and of a family interest. Even though a new entity the staff were professional and helpful!.
Staff were awesome. Hotel is unique and the rooms are like lofts. The location was very good. Really enjoyed our stay. It was cool that you could get a glass of wine and some meat and cheese boards and hang around .
the decor and feeling at the hotel was great - very clever in design (small spaces that felt very comfortable, lots of recycled materials used in beautiful ways, very chic) and our welcome was personal and sincere.

1888 Darling Harbour is a "Ritzy" modern refurb of an old wool store, in the heart of Darling Harbour. Location, location, location. Staff were exceptionally helpful and pleasant to deal with.

Found noise from traffic irritating as we were on first level in the front and close to the road.told reception who quickly offered me another room.Next day had workmen looking into problem -- cannot fault care and attention.

I brought ice bricks to freeze in my freezer box, but there wasn't one... The bar/kitchen staff were more than happy to keep them in their freezer for me though :).
The room which we had was very small even though the fixtures were excellent. Even the receptionist described it as a 'shoebox'. I'm sure there would be larger rooms if you were prepared to pay more.
Not a lot of room to do close up make-up, squeezed between toilet and basin. A small healthy lunch and room service selection ,even grab and go wraps or the like, would be good.

At first 'challenged 'by the size of the room. The only comment ( if there needs to be one) would be lack space to accommodate suitcases.

You cannot help but flood the bathroom - this should be looked at and fixed.
. A lot of facilities are provided yet a DVD player is not one of them, also there is the opportunity to plug your laptop in to the TV to use for this purpose (but only if you have the lead yourself!).
A DVD player is certainly not the be all and end all in a hotel and we spent most time out of our room but it is something that would be easily rectified (we bought our own HDMI cable at a cost of 15 Dollars).
It was a bit of a long walk to use the hotel gym.
I couldn't adjust the airconditioning.
Our bookings were a little mixed up. We started in a corner shoe box room that was inadequate due mainly to the lack of storage and hanging space. The bathroom was tiny too.

It IS a bit noisy, as it sits just under the highway on/off ramp.
But we ARE in the city, after all.
Location is ok but not the best, being near to t he v commercial DArling Harbour.....but we like to walk so we took the long way round to the Tumbalong area :-).
