We liked the fact that the staff permitted us to use the shower and store our belongings prior to check in. We had arrived in Sydney from Darwin at 6am and could not check in until 2pm that day so we really appreciated the shower to freshen up.
We would certainly stay at Woolbrokers again if we visit Sydney in the future and we will recommend it to our friends.
We have never been to Sydney before so we had no idea where we we going whilst we filled in the 6 hours awaiting to check in. If we ha. all reviews
The hotel staff was great and always helpful. The location is simply
amazing: 5 minutes walk from Darling Harbour and the Star Casino! Our
room was fairly big, hence the fact, I cannot understand people
complaining on their reviews about the size of their room (maybe I was
just lucky?!). The shared bathroom worked just fine, after all, nobody
goes on a trip to stay closed in a bathroom do they?.
We arrived late on Thursday night, the room was clean and comfortable On
the Friday morning we woke to Sydney rain, we stored our bags in secure
storage and went sight seeing for the day they gave use umbrellas to use
while out (at no charge) we returned later in the afternoon returned the
umbrella, staff kindly called a taxi (again at no charge) would stay
again next time in Sydney.
Lots of bathrooms which impt when shared.
Great huge bed!
Great location to pop to buzzing Darling harbour.
Really pleased our booking had gone through with no complications on arrival. They expected us and had room ready for us and let us store bags till leave so not traipsing city with luggage.Little things like this make a huge difference-thanks.
Have stayed at the Woolbrokers twice now and each time we are amazed at the great location and value for money. The Hotel has a quaintness about it and is an older style but very clean and staff efficient and friendly.
Would stay again.
Location is good, right behind the mall on the west side of Darling
Harbour. Free upgrade to a very large room with an ensuite. Reasonable
room for the price. Cheap parking across the road.
Was so convenient to Darling harbour, convention Centre & Exhibition centre. Was easy to get there with the light rail/tram. Suggest you let people know which tram stop to get out at.
The service was great, the lady who served us at the counter was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were neat (we stayed in a double room with a private bathroom) and clean.
Clean and tidy, main bed was comfortable, tv was great and facilities,
although old, were clean and tidy, very budget friendly!! The staff were
fantastic, and ever so helpful.
Faultless location, reception very helpful giving us maps/ directions etc. Very spacious room (especially for a city room). Very comfy feel to it and great value for money.
The hotel location is excellent , easy to excess to darling harbour and
public transport. I have a very big room for 6 of us n my children enjoy
themselves very much.
Location and friendliness of the staff and other guests. It is charming and reminded us of the places we stayed in when travelling in Europe. Very comfortable.
Excellent location in the city with the cheapest accommodation and parking. We'll always stay at Woolbrokers Hotel every time we're down in Sydney!.
Cheap place in the middle of the city, You can't beat it! Don't expect 5 star comforts, but clean and comfy enough for a place to crash the night.
24 hr enquiries.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Ability to store luggage before and after booked stay.
Continental breakfast provided for $7-50 ea.
I liked how close it was to Darling Harbour.
The facilities were clean.
Value for money with the rooms that had bunk beds in them.
no frills approach, friendly and efficient and competent staff, location, value for money, character of building, availability.
It was value for money being so close to Darling Harbour and the City. Secure parking is just across the road and very cheap.
Staff were great, location is fantastic for the price. They are doing really well with the facilities that they have.
The staff were very friendly, it was very close to where we had to go,it was clean and the biggest bath towels,Great.
Location was Very close to Darling Harbour. i attended a conference at the Darling Harbour Conference Centre.
convent to central city. walk to all venues. light rail quick to central station and then train to anywhere.
good location which is consistent with the price. Nice friendly with gorgeous look and approach.
Just love this friendly little hotel, it is so close to all I need on a visit to Sydney.
The location was brilliant and the staff were exceptionally helpful.
Convenient location, very clean and tidy and great value for money.
The room was very comfortable and the location was spot on for us.
It was close to what my self and family wanted or see and do.

Breakfast.
Ok value. My room was dark but at least it had a window that opened. Bed was clean and comfy. TV worked. Bar fridge was larger than in most hotel rooms.
Our checkin was smooth. Not much hassle
Given 1st floor. Shared bathroom were there but they were clean. Location very near to convention and monorail.
Close to parking, with discount voucher provided.
Close to local attractions
Building had character.
Good location.
Staff very nice and friendly.
Location was great and cost effective.
clean sheets and bathroom.
Good value.

Location.
Location was very good, I love the style of the old building with a little T L C and airing this could be a great place to stay. A suggestion. you could put a menu for the dinning room in the rooms as we didn't know it was there.
close to every thing.
I did not try the breakfast (I based myself on previous reviews prior to
booking this hotel) and as matter of fact... Poor selection considering
what the hotel charges for it. There are plenty of places in Sydney
where by gving a little bit more money... You can get yourself quite a
decent breakfast! Look it up! Walk the walk!.
Found traffic very noisy so hard to sleep.
The reception staff were very friendly so no complaint but would have loved if they could give info on events happening on doorstep eg fireworks on Saturday nights
or info like how to get into city(we didn't find the steps and flyover and had been walking right around-our fault but could be helpful to clients to just point out those good features of your hotel?).
Bathroom could have been a little cleaner. By the time we returned late
at night there were quite a few bugs in the bathroom. Room was quite hot
- no airconditioning - but that's probably fair given the value.
The stairs!!!! But I didn't mind as I was on 1st floor. The drink machine wasn't working.
The covers on the bed were horrible and itchy, our door didn't automatically lock when they were shut.
The bunk beds were extremely squeaky, which can be easily fixed with
some rubber washers so it doesnt rub. I would suggest this as an urgent
maintenance issue as we were kept awake by the children moving even
just a cm.
I would suggest supplying some face washers as well as towels as we could not find any for our showers. Also if you supply a dish clothe we could have tidied up a little better.
No WiFi at all which would be a bonus. Old tv with few stations. Alotof stairs to climb.
Furniture is a bit old n our room is on the second floor we have to drag
our luggage up the stair. Overall we are happy with the price we are
paying for our stay!!
Esther ... Singapore.
Nothing to not like.
Lack of towel rails in rooms.
The bunk beds were not terribly comfortable. This could easily be improved with a better pillow.
Whilst the communal shower was clean it was extremely small. The hot water was variable during use.
traffic noise can wake you if you choose to ignore the birds that you can hear as well. the first you expect in a city hotel, the second not so much. not a big deal though.
Inside and out the place is incredibly shabby. Paint peeling from the walls and rust on the shower rails. Really needs a bit of TLC.
Wish it had Elevator but other wise I didnt mind the stay.
while everything was clean and comfortable the whole building is sadly in need of face lift and make over. taps leaked, toilets were slow to flash.
fault internet and have to exposed to the outside weather after utilization of the shower/ bathroom. i think there should be signpost written "Woolbrokers' outside the hotel.
Not a thing.
It is a very noisy hotel, many of the walls are paper thin and you can hear every little noise especially at night.
The Internet kiosk was out of order on our visit.
That there was no free parking but the hotel help as much as they could.
Housekeeping did not make the bed properly and the beds were not very comfortable.
stairs.
Musty smell in the rooms I have stayed in different ones each time but they all have the same smell otherwise I love it and so do my friends.
Bathroom very small, could do for a mirror in room.
Exhaust fan in shower
No clothes hooks in shower.
didn't have lifts.
Not really a hotel, more a budget b&b (not what I was expecting). Not very welcoming on the exterior. Immediate neighbourhood is a bit dirty.
No lift so have to carry all your luggage. Rest all ok on this budget.
Rooms not adequately described on Internet.
Room directly on street. Room right inside entry. High noise level.
Shower very tiny. Nowhere to put clothes or toilet bag.
TV did not go and the sockets did noy go and the female staff member was always on the phone in the evenings.
hard to get the room dark and too close to street - very noisy and disruptive even until 4 am.
Nowhere to park vehicle whilst checking in.
noisy.
Free wi-fi only at the reception.
The ventilator was not working.
The bunk beds where all rocky and when we looked at them they were coming apart. There was a dirty ear bud under a bunk bed and other things under the so called double bed which was 2 singles beds pushed together and one was sagging in the middle. Which was very uncomfortable. With the bunk bed I wouldn't let my girls sleep in the top, they had to sleep together as I thought it was very dangerous.
in need of a good steam clean ,carpets very old and dirty as is the bathrooms.
