All staff absolutely superb - friendly, helpful and attentive, reception staff and porters desk/concierge staff went out of their way to ensure our comfort. Room has excellent ammenities, was well designed for comfort and convenience and the bed was extremely comfortable. Location for theatres and shopping could not be better.The hotel has a welcoming feel to it and feels "boutique". Warm welcome from Susan at reception, glass of champagne at check-in desk and nice handwritten card with chocolates in our room that night from Susan wishing us a pleasant stay in Melbourne. Very personal touch from a large hotel.
all reviews » The Executive Lounge was really convenient as most shops in Melbourne close at 6pm. It opens until Midnight so you can still grab some biscuits, beer, water, juice, etc. They serve light meals as well in the evenings. all staff excellent and friendly in every area rooms very nicely furnished very clean beds excellent and comfortable breakfast in executive business room excellent , evening drinks very good facilities very good. The beds are so comfortable. The location is perfect. Breakfast was included in our room rate and the variety and quality was excellent. Reception staff were lovely. Check in and checkout was fast and efficient. The service from the staff at the hotel were FANTASTIC from the Concierge, Reception, Cleaning and Hospitality. They all helped to make our weekend really memorable. The strong point of the visit was the professionalism and friendliness of the staff.they could not do enough for you. All of the staff were brilliant. I liked that it was in centre of town. We paid for executive room and breakfast in lounge was average to other places I have stayed. One and only minor complaint was that the room's window exterior was incredibly dirty - realise that as a high rise it is impossible to have them perfectly clean all the time but these were the dirtiest windows we have experienced in a multi- story hotel. Perhaps we stayed just before a scheduled clean. The room itself was extremely clean, absolutely spotless. Nothing. The ventilation in the room was not good. The air was super dry, had to gulp down loads of water everyday. You would have to settle for a chill at times if you want to open the window during winter. executive business room very nice but I think it is too small an area for the number of people that access it canapes could be better. The pool area was average, the internet was very expensive. Our room was not ready when we arrived and we were told we could upgrade to a city view room (at our cost) as our 2 year old son was very irritable after traveling 10+ hours to arrive in Melbourne we agreed, the city view looked into another building directly across from us. We found the temperature in the hotel slightly chilly in the exec lounge and also the room. Having to eat on the Monday evening in the bar was a let down as the normal restaraunt was closed. The bar was crowded and the staff were struggling with the numbers. Once again it was cold. The room allocated was very noisy especially from executive lounge staff and door closing was really noisy. The website to book was very user unfriendly - kept randomly jumping to another hotel when I tried to book. The request I put in for bed type was actually registered with the hotel as the complete opposite, however hotel was able to accomodate me. Why do I pay a 1.5% credit card fee - that's just gouging. Could I have paid cash and got rid of the fee? That's a fee I get nothing for. Would have liked a terrace to sit and have a few drinks outside. Door card played up and replaced 3 times and wasn't near phone Staff selling mariott package while I'm dining. Check in time at 1400 is late, Room booking was not right, I wanted room with twin beds as i was travelling with my mum, needed to be corrected. Room could have been a little cleaner. Bedsides hadn't been cleaned. Nothing. Poor Breakfast. Internet is too expensive. Nothing. having to use room key in elevator to get to your room floor level. window outside view is a lane. parking fees too high!. My booking was not confirmed with hotel. So not sure what happened to my booking. Fortunately hotel wasn't booked put. Small shower and no bath. Was given a room with aconnecting door (without being told). Could hear next door although luckily the occupants were considerate. Was given a low level (level 6) room despite paying for a deluxe room. The bathroom didn't have a bath, not told of this either. Cost Being told room I had booked was not available? Then being told that I had to pay $120 extra to stay, then realising later it was $120 a night not "an extra $120" Paid for breakfast but wasnt able to make it either morning. Not enough staff. 2 single beds!. Didn't like the fact that I asked for two double beds in the request and the hotel did not receive that request. I was travelling with a work collegue who then had to sleep on a fold out sofa, which was not very comfortable. A phone call would of been nice so we could of found different accommodation :-( And the breakfast was expensive $70 for 2 of use + credit card surcharge. And just realised they have charged my credit card twice for breakfast. I will be ringing them in the morning!!. Room booked was not available, staff seemed not interested, had to sleep on a fold out bed, could not get service in a timely fashion from the bar and it was expensive for the value.
