The location is ideal for visiting the Chateau at Chambord. This is a really unique experience and an opportunity to stay in a Chateau. The rooms are of an older period but quite charming. The hosts Patrick and his wife Ileana were both friendly and helpful with local information. The breakfast in a period dining room with painted panels was special.

Beautiful hotel and family rooms well designed and carefully thought out. The childrens bunk beds were in a separate area, behind a closed door, but within our room, brilliant! Large comfortable beds, lovely warm showers, good sized pool, fabulous buffet evening meal and breakfast. Great location for the wonderful beaval zoo.

Superb cuisine but the prices were very high indeed. You would need to know it is expensive in advance, but it was delicious.

Chateau de Portail was a wonderful experience and Claude Herbert was an amazing host. It was nice to be welcomed so warmly into his home with nowhere out of bounds. The house is charming, warm, comfortable and elegant with a relaxed feel to it thanks to Claude Herbert's hospitality.
