The accommodation overlooked the main town on the island and was within easy walking distance of the town and ferry for Dubrovnik and other islands. The apartment has a sea view balcony in the main bedroom and a terrace in the garden. Kitchen was well equipped with all you would need for cooking your own food. We were there just on the edge of the season so were slightly limited eating out but ate at a great beach cafe in the other village most days. There are loads of paths all over the island

We decided to head to Mljet a day earlier than planned and had a accommodation booked in the north of the island in the national park, but decided to stay somewhere different for the beforehand. This is a wonderful place. With the most perfect location just a few steps to the beautiful sea - perfect for lots of swimming in a quiet and tranquil environment. Our balcony was set only a road's width from a beautiful cove. Polace is a very small village with just one road, houses on one side and moorings on the other, at the entrance to the national park (though I would reccomend driving a few minutes up the road to save a bit of a walk to the lakes) so I simply cannot explain how good this location is. The room has a fairly basic feel to it, but everything was new, clean and worked well. There was a small but well equipped and adequate kitchenette
