We booked a last minute trip to relax and were not disappointed. The serviceat the hotel, welcome and our room were excellent . The staff at the hotel, from concierge to swimming pool staff were trained to a very high standard and always helpful in a very relaxed athmosphere. A particular highlight was the buffet dinner on the open terrace on our last day (friday). We stayed for 2 nights at Villa Jerkan and I wish we could have stayed longer. The location is good for people who want easy access to the tourist sites in Split but want to stay in a quiet location. And the hotel is directly on a nice sheltered pebble beach which is good for swimming or snorkeling. There is a supermarket about 200 meters from the hotel and 3 restaurants within walking distance. We especially liked "Jure". If you want more selection, you'll need to go in to Split. A bu - Elizabeth

Stayed there for a fall weekend. Absolutely lovely place though a bit out of town; the public bus works well. The road noise is hardly disturbing as the hotel is downhill, and apparently the noise does not reach the building esp. the seaside where all balconies are. The pool was not big and not very warm but well cared for; it's simply a matter of switching on the lights (though the staff prefers that you ask them for assistance) and 5 mins later plunge-you-go. We spent one remarkable week at Hotel Sunce this summer. The hotel is magnificent and we have rarely experienced such hospitality and warm service before . They really have succeeded in the fine art of combining a "family run" atmosphere with high quality premises. The rooms were absolutely excellent (probably the cleanest hotel in Croatia?) - very functional and a lovely terrace towards the beachfront. The Beach Apartments Lavica is a compound of villas, each housing 4 apartments. The compound is very quiet, green, and well maintained. We stayed in a studio - comes with a small kitchen (with all utensils for basic cooking and eating in) a dining table and chairs, a double bed and a pull-out single bed. There is also a TV in the room with several satellite channels and an excellent air conditioning unit. The balcony is decent size, with a table and chairs. Everything is quite new. location is just off the main busy road and not in the best part of town. 5 min from the beach (not great beach). Ideally it would be best with a car as Split is 15 min away This is an as new apartment, all rooms are large, and very clean. cooking facilities, but they are limited (no roasts) beds VERY comfortable and it's very quiet, as bedrooms are out the back. limited channels on TV, p.s, my girlfriend says Johnny is a bit of a dish !! he's also very friendly. - Efthymios

On a recent trip to the Dalmatian coast this was the nicest place we stayed at (all being budget accommodations). The room was clean, bathroom was nice and the host family was very accommodating. We had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel next door, and it was pretty good and at a reasonable price. The water is nearby and there are some rocky beach/swim areas within walking.
