La Regisserie Chantaloup is an old stone house with exceptional interior design & modern appointments, including a rain shower & central air conditioning in a quiet country location on lovely grounds a short drive into Amboise where we found plenty of free parking, a nice assortment of restaur... hva folk sier » ants, Amboise Castle & La Clos Luce, (Leonardo Da Vinci's chateau where he lived on the invitation of Francois I the last yrs of his life.) The st - This was the highlight of our accommodations experience (better than 5-star) in France. Tired from dining out every night during our trip, my husband and I picked up some Vouvray wine, local cheeses, baguettes, pates etc from a nearby supermarket and had dinner at the back patio, with a view of the vast vineyard under the multitude of stars.
