  I loved the Holbrooke Hotel for its great central location in old Grass Valley and for its rich lively California history. When I arrived on a Sunday evening there was a Celtic band playing near the saloon inside the hotel which was really cool...the historic elevator was still working so I took it to my room on the 2nd floor, which was room where... ce que les gens disent » the famous Lola Crabtree stayed in, and it was down the hall from the Presidential suites. The room had a beautiful clawfoot bath tub, a working flat - This is our 2nd visit to the Holbrooke Hotel. We came back because we enjoy the historical aspects of the hotel. If folks are looking for the Ritz-Carlton, this is not the place. Come for the olde time ambiance.

  Friendly staff and good grounds for Fido. Very clean room and nice shower. Nice setting, lots of trees and very quiet. - Clean - Very nice person at the reception desk - Very good value for money
