Midweek rates in November were very good. Conveniently located hotel near the centre with plenty of off-street parking, which a lot of places in Ambleside do not have. The bedroom was not large but adequate, the kingsize bed being comfortable. Large bathroom with spa bath. Cold buffet breakfast was extensive and very good. Pleasant helpful efficient staff.

The Wateredge Inn is in a wonderful location right on the lake. The
views out to the boats bobbing on the lake were lovely. The room was
nicely decorated and comfortable as was the bathroom. The inns lounge
and dining areas were very nice, with again a beautiful outlook. The two
Scottish sisters who waited on us for breakfast were lovely and friendly
as was Ryan the bar man. The countryside around Ambleside was really
beautiful and well worth a longer visit.

Very good guesthouse with very friendly and efficient staff. The double room with en-suite (£70 per night B&B) was very good value, well appointed and was very clean with high levels of local information. The breakfast was extensive with cereal, fruit juice, fresh fruit, yoghurt, full English breakfast with tea/coffee and toast. Alan who co owns Melrose house with his wife Lynn could not have been more helpful. A definite recommendation for Melrose House and will tell family and friends.

Check in was quick and we were shown our room and its features explained. Room was at back of hotel but spotlessly clean and comfortable. we had a great time.The hotel owner was very knowledgeable of the area and advised some good places to visit.All staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.The accomadation and breakfast were fantastic coupled with a great location,5 mins walk to town and 5 min walk to waterhead.The hotel was spotless throughout.We had such a great time we booked our parents in for a short break for their anniversary.whilst there and we would definatley stay again.

Everything! The staff were wonderful and the food excellent. - Felt more like a 4* plus hotel, not a 3. Nice details like great towels and fresh milk available for in-room coffee. Quality decor in room, nice bathroom too. Very convenient to town without being in it.

Lacet House is in a great location, very close, literally to the town centre of Ambleside. The host Catherine made my 83 year old mother and I very welcome. We received old fashioned hospitality. It is a small guest house so it feels like bringing your lounge room! We booked 6 months ahead from Australia ans got a very competitive rate. Very good

Such a lovely place to stay where the owners were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. They went above and beyond expectations! Great location right in the middle of Ambleside. Modern well presented rooms with very comfortable beds! We had a great choice of breakfasts and they even have parking spaces! ( rare in Ambleside). We will definitely be returning for another visit! Extemely welcoming staff. When i got delaid on the train and emailed the hostel to check they would still have someone on reception they responded straight away. Breakfast was well worth the price, it was a little noisy with kids but nothing i wouldnt have expected. My single room on the third floor was surprisingly roomy with several bathroom in the vercinity. All in all, great staff, brilliant value for money super setting (right on the lake) will deffinitely be back!

From the moment we arrived we were made really welcome. Mike (the owner) was helpful in every way, showing us around and offering to carry our bags to our room which was very comfortable. Breakfast was a delight from the vast array of cereals & fruit available to the full English that we ordered on the first morning to the lighter choice on our second.
