Check in was quick and we were shown our room and its features explained. Room was at back of hotel but spotlessly clean and comfortable. Decor was modern and my girlfriend impressed with Sanderson wallpaper, curtains etc. Water in shower was hot (a bath would have been nice to relax in after a days walk, but you can't have everything). Staff were helpful and gave recommendations for pubs, bars and restaurants in Ambleside. Breakfast was again good with a plentiful choice of starters and mains.
kaikki arvostelut » we had a great time.The hotel owner was very knowledgeable of the area and advised some good places to visit.All staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.The accomadation and breakfast were fantastic coupled with a great location,5 mins walk to town and 5 min walk to waterhead.The hotel was spotless throughout.We had such a great time we booked our parents in for a short break for their anniversary.whilst there and we would definatley stay again. The stay was very good. Went with my girlfriend for our first holiday away together and it was very enjoyable. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and keen to help with any of our requests. When we asked them about things to do they were very helpful and even drew us a map. Breakfasts were also really good. It was a very enjoyable stay and I would definitely recommend the Fisherbeck to anyone. Kind, courteous, friendly staff. Lovely garden room, very clean and modern. Delicious served, breakfast choices - no scrambling for a buffet! Great location, with easy access to the Lake and the town. Good parking, we could just leave the car and do our walks. We have stayed in various types of accomodation in Ambleside and would happily return to the Fisherbeck. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay!. The hotel was very tidy and well furnishes. We stayed in room 1 which if a basic double bed room with en-suit. The room was nice and clean, bathroom was well equipt with good power shower and well stock with soaps and towels. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was good, nice choice of different meals. Also the staff was well organised, everything was served very promptly. The service was second to none - from the moment we checked in to when I had a phone call on the way home asking we whether I has left a pair of walking socks in the drying room. I had ! They had washed them and posted them back to me. I also need to mention the breakfasts - fantastic and really set you up for a day on the hills. Overall a wonderful experience. The room (No 10) was fabulous and much more luxurious than we expected. The bathroom was extremely good. Reception support was excellent and very friendly - complimentary coffee while we waited for our room (even though we were early) was a very nice touch. As was the champagne for our honeymoon in our room - thanks you!. Lovely contemporary garden room with fab bathroom. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast delicious with a nice choice. Parking easy and only 5 mins walk to town center or Waterhead. Complimentary bubbly left for us as we had mentioned the fact it was our 25th wedding anniversary - lovely touch!. Friendly staff, very attentive. Excellent (enormous) breakfast with a lot of choice. Filled our thermos for us which was a boon on walks. Could walk into Ambleside (and should-the car park in Ambleside is busy and pricey!). Nice restaurant immediately across the road. The lovely big bedroom and bathroom in our room, room 10. Staff lovely and friendly, right from our arrival, made to feel welcome. Lovely touch to leave us a small bottle of bubbly as was our anniversary. Have already recommended this hotel to friends and family. The owners and the staff are welcoming and outstanding in providing directions, hiking information and restaurant tips. The location is walking distance to downtown Ambleside and also to lake boats. It is also centrally located for going west or north or south. we loved everything about the place. so friendly nothing was too much trouble. the room was spotless, cleaned everyday and fresh towels. we stayed in room 14 it was huge with a huge bathroom, with it own outside patio area. breakfast menu was fab! faultless!!!. friendly,efficient staff,warm welcome.Immaculate,comfortable hotel.Breakfast had lots of choices.beautifully cooked and plentiful.Loved the whisky soaked raisins in porridge.Excellent location within Ambleside.Highly recommended and will definitely return. Everything about the Fisherbeck was superb The staff were excellent and made us feel very welcome. We found our stay very relaxing in beautiful surroundings and well situated to allow us to visit other notable beauty spots and towns in the Lake district. The breakfast was amazing - waitress service, in contrast to the more usual buffet, and a great range. The manager also bent over backwards to help us with travel arrangements and other practical things - very friendly and welcoming, highly recommended. The breakfast was amazing. Great choice and delicious food, especially the baked goods basket and the daily specials. The rooms were comfortable, clean and very well decorated. The staff were all friendly, helpful and accomodating. My parents, husband and I all loved everything about our stay at this bed and breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel. we stayed in room 14. i just loved the bathroom, and the little sheepskin rugs. just a little comment, coat hooks would have been good. staff were welcoming and accomodating and the breakfast the best from our four day trip. The receptionist gave us a warm welcome every day and the staff were so attentertive, first class breakfast we had a lovely stay and already planning to go back in the near future. It was in a great position 5 minutes from town centre, the staff were all lovely and professional. There was a great choice of breakfast. The hotel was very clean. Wifi did not work for IPhones and even on my laptop it only worked some of the time and as our room was directly over reception and so closest to the router this was surprising but not the end of the world. If you have a new apple devise you might have a problem connecting to the wifi. The owner told us its something to do with apple. The Samsung phone connected without a problem. Also, if u a fussy about the comfort of you bed, could be a bit uncomfortable. We found the breakfast food and service a bit too fussy and unnecessary. If I was being really picky I would say the decor in the dining room - its a tad 'twee' compared to our fresh contemporary bedroom. However, like I said - I would be being very picky as the service and food were wonderful. Noise from nearby main road-not a major problem though. The fact I thought we were getting a 'private' patio area but it isn't, as it is in full view of other guests and also guests and staff had to come through ours to get to the other rooms. Fact we could never get to sit at a window table for breakfast as not given choice of where to sit. nothing. There was nothing that we disliked. Having to leave!. it rained the whole day but that is the gamble when you go the the lakes. Nothing. nothing that I did not like, but a bit surprised to find no evening meals facilities, they did have snacks , sandwiches etc. but plenty of places close by to eat, so no great problem. No lift, and the breakfast slot was only an hour I think, although we didn't have breakfast in the end...but that's reaching for scraps, it was a great stay. No negatives. Having to leave. Sorry liked everything. Nothing. Our room was a bit small and was quite a lot of noise when we had to open the window as it was too warm. Nothing. Our room could have been bigger. We stayed 4 nights. At first 2 night, my wife got in trouble about hot water supply. She could not use hot water at midnight and early morning. It might be better to ask the staff to keep turning on the boiler at any time. Noise from room above and adjoining bathrooms. Nothing. Lounge and dining room are a bit dated. We liked everything|. Nothing. Lack of coat hooks in room, duvet too warm. Room with patio was not private as pictures on website appeared to suggest. Patio area afforded access to other rooms, so not ideal. Noisy family on floor above - this is of course not the fault of the hotel. toilet & shower room to small shower room very small.
