This was a great holiday and a great place to stay -
A spotlessly clean family run B&B, with lovely owners and staff, right in the centre of Ambleside. I can't wait to visit again. Extreemly comfy beds and an amazing choice for breakfast. (Try the bacon, it is the best I've tasted in many years!) I've stayed in Ambleside before on many occasions, but this was my first time at Wordsworth's. I'm glad I found it!

The location was ideal for walking in the town of Ambleside and to get a boat ride to the other locations such as bowness.

The spotless room, it was ever so comfortable and clean. The breakfast was delicious! Plenty of choice. Ola and Peter were exceptionally friendly and cheerful and really made you feel welcome. Loved the complimentary bottle of water and biscuits that we received in our room on both days we stayed. Location is great, it is in walking distance of all the shops in Ambleside. We did a lovely walk to Grasmere while we stayed there. In the welcome book there's lots of suggested walks that you can do,

Before our arrival Ethna the owner contacted us by email, allowing us to check in earlier than the 3pm stated on their website.
The location is fantastic, easily accessible by car, with a reserved parking space included in the price of the room. It is set away from the main roads that run through Ambleside, meaning you have little to no vehicles

We hadn't stayed in a B and B before but this was one of the most wonderful experiences from start to end. Ethna welcomed us very warmly and made us feel at home throughout our whole stay. Ethna is very friendly, with a lovely sense of humour as well as being very knowledgeable and helpful about the breath-taking surrounding area.

Lacet House is in a great location, very close, literally to the town centre of Ambleside. The host Catherine made my 83 year old mother and I very welcome. We received old fashioned hospitality. It is a small guest house so it feels like bringing your lounge room! We booked 6 months ahead from Australia ans got a very competitive rate. Very good

Such a lovely place to stay where the owners were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. They went above and beyond expectations! Great location right in the middle of Ambleside. Modern well presented rooms with very comfortable beds! We had a great choice of breakfasts and they even have parking spaces! ( rare in Ambleside). We will definitely be returning for another visit! Location was amazing, not much more than a football pitch away from the shore of Windermere, accessible through a stile. Lodge was very clean and modern, great views. One staff member couldn't have been more helpful when I asked him for plates and cutlery, as we were getting a take-out! Great value at £70 per night. Great place for outdoor pursuit

The setting of Brathay Hall is stunning with great views of the lake, and the hall it self commanding. We had a twin attic room which was ideal for what we wanted after being in the hills all day, good shower comfy bed tea/coffee making facility, small bar but no food available, good breakfast next day, all in all well worth the payment and would use this place again.

Fiona the host was very friendly and had a good knowledge of the area offering advice and tips of where to eat and giving directions to local places.
We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable, the en-suite was small but cleaned every day and breakfast was excellent with a selection of fruits, yoghurts, cereals, fruit juices and a full cooked English made to order.

From the moment we arrived we were made really welcome. Mike (the owner) was helpful in every way, showing us around and offering to carry our bags to our room which was very comfortable. Breakfast was a delight from the vast array of cereals & fruit available to the full English that we ordered on the first morning to the lighter choice on our second.

This is a superb B&B. One of the best I've ever stayed in. Pleasantly decorated and the rooms are extremely comfortable with everything you need for a good nights sleep.

I stayed in the single room for one night. It was very clean and more than sufficed my needs. Bed was very comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, cold cereals and fruit followed by a choice of cooked breakfasts.

Very clean comfortable room and bed, excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. We would recommend this BnB to anyone visiting the Windermere Lake. Just a short stroll into the town of Ambleside and 1 mile to the Lake.
