  Very friendly and helpful staff, very nice room. $12 parking right nextdoor, extremely convenient for going to Waikiki beach. One long blockfrom the Duke Kahanmoku statue which is dead center on the beach. The room itself is very clean although the hotel building itself is dated.

  First let start by saying that it is not the Ritz Carlton; however, this hotel is located right in the middle of Waikiki Beach. When you walk out of the lobby it is ½ block walk to the International Marketplace and a 1.5 block to the beautiful Waikiki Beach. The place offers free parking and each tenant is required to display a sign on their winds... what people say » hield to indicate that they belong there. I have read some reviews that the lot was full and they were unable to find a spot. We never encountered tha - Ilima is a gem! The decor is absolutely vintage Hawaiian.... wood, tile, wicker, tropical prints, original local artwork, and pink all over. We had room 1507 and had an amazing view of the canal and mountains. It was perfect to wake up to this every morning, with a very big balcony seating area to have coffee and tea. Studio room was also really big with a full kitchen.   The cleanliness of our room and efficiency of the maid services were excellent. Comfort and size of room was excellent however the sofa bed was slightly unstable. Plenty of extra sheets, lightweight blankets and mattress were available. Maids would not only vacuum every second day, they also washed and dried all towels for us. Overall l - Simple, clean. Unit needs updating but it is sufficient. Nice to have the washer/dryer as I worked out alot and it was great being able to wash clothes. A half block away is the running path along the canal which was excellent. The building is very secure and you have free parking which is key in Waikiki as this can be very expensive. There are plenty of markets and coffee shops around and the beach is 3 blocks away. If you don't rent a car the buses all stop just around the corner and you can
