  The location is great. Right by the water and in a 'real' part of the island. Don't take any notice of reviews that say the neighbourhood is unsafe. It is a working area and there are fishermen with gear etc. It's real!! Staff at the resort are very helpful and the atmosphere is relaxed. Good to have the pool, canoes and snorkelling gear available... what people say » . Breakfast is fine too, fruit, cereal and waffles etc. OK, this is not Honolulu, but that's why we chose it... quiet, away from the main drag... if - It was only a 5-10min walk to the Seven Eleven, and Mike’s Hulu Chicken truck and a grocery store where you can also buy alochol and foods. The room had hot plates and a microwave and kitchen. So that was more than fine. The scenery was just magnificent. The water and beautiful rich green mountains with mist. I loved the fact that it was so far away from Wakiki. (Too busy for me). My studio room was enormous and my bed was very comfortable.

  Loved the adult infinity pool and that our room was a few feet away. We had an awesome oceanfront room that was very close to the pool. Children of all ages were well catered for and hence adults were able to enjoy the location and amenities and relax, I especially loved my visits to the adults only pool. It really is quite impressive. Lots of things to do. You really don't ever even have to leave the resort. But if you want to one of my favorite beaches Hapuna is right up the road. I also really liked the products they had in their bathroom so much so I bought some to take home with me.

  This is Hawaii's Hawaiian Hotel. We had a room on the main floor, garden view, room 178 (smoking outside). It didn't face the large area of the garden, but it did have a small garden outside our room. We enjoyed it more because it was secluded. You could see the ocean through the trees.   It's an older resort but that is not a problem at all. Fabulous resort facilities, very clean and comfortable room (partial ocean view) with great service. You can't swim in the ocean directly from the hotel but it is such a dramatic location as the resort is positioned directly on lava rock. Views of the ocean are stunning. Watched the manta rays feeding and ate delicious 'spider shrimp' at Rays on the Bay. Would definitely recommend to others and would stay there again myself
