This is Hawaii's Hawaiian Hotel. We had a room on the main floor, garden view, room 178 (smoking outside). It didn't face the large area of the garden, but it did have a small garden outside our room. We enjoyed it more because it was secluded. You could see the ocean through the trees. Our room was an older room and had the Hawaiian bedspread, photos on the wall. Very nice touch. The mature grounds are beautiful and well kept. Many lounge chairs on the grass area and under trees. all reviews » The Ka'anapali Beach Hotel is built upon traditional Hawaiian values and friendliness. The staff are helpful and friendly. The hotel sponsors a cultural enrichment and community give-back program that encourages its employees to honor their Hawaiian culture and to participate in community ventures. I was particularly impressed with the children's passport activity in which each child is issued a passport with their Hawaiian name. My daughter loved going to the various places, telling her Hawaii. Ka'anapali Beach is on the west (sunny) side of Maui. The closest airport is Kapalua (JHM). You can hire a car pretty cheaply through Alamo and when you arrive at the airport, you ring them and they are there within 10 mins to bring you to the depot to pick up your car. Great location - close to Lahaina (a must, especially the beautiful Banyan tree), and fantastic snorkelling at Black Rock or Honolua Bay. There is of course the beautiful Ka'anapali Beach right outside the hotel and not very po. Perfect location - hotel is just next to the beautiful white sand beach, has a very nice quiet garden with relaxing atmosphere, very nice free show every night, there are very nice other hotels around where you can go for drink or just for a walk. We liked the hotel very much and we recommend it. Just do not expect 4 or 5 star facilities. location is great and parking was relatively cheap. rooms were old but ok. the staff was friendly an helpful, they even gave us a hospitality room the last day as we check out early and our flight was quite late. I would recommended it if you are not looking for a fancy room and just need a place to stay while you go around the island. Please don't ever change the layout of the hotel. The lawns are so beautiful and peaceful, and you can still find privacy even though many people are lounging around. I prefer grass to multiple pools. This is the last true hawaiian hotel left, all the others look the same. Definitely will return. The slightly old fashioned charm and retro decor. The beautiful manicured gardens. The pristine beach and crystal clean ocean. The relaxed vibe, friendly staff and great location. Great for a family holiday. It really feels like a home away from home. It exceeded our expectations. Really felt like a genuine culture was pervasive. The canoe project was very moving as we're the Kukui Nut Leis presented to us as we left. Would return again!!. Bedding and linen were always clean. Room was always tidied while away at breakfast. Maintenance responded quickly to a bathtub draining problem and in changing a light bulb. Ester was the best!!. The staff were very friendly and knowledgable! KBH was so centrally located to all activities we simply checked in and enjoyed everything at a walking distance! Planning our next stay already!. Next to Black Rock where there is excellent snorkelling. the location is so good that you can share the beach with other luxury resort and the famous black rock is several minutes walking distance. the price is reasonable. If you don't bring your own, the hotel does supply shampoo and body lotion but no conditioner. The breakfast buffet was rather costly for the uninspired selection. I would recommend ordering off the menu if you decide to eat breakfast here. They should start hotel renovation slowly. wifi isn't available nor free. tv was not flat screen. my room didn't have bathtub, it was only the shower. Can't think of anything. No fitness center, but they give coupons with 5 usd discount for a very close one for 15 usd day pass. Must stay on top of the birds in the dining areas. Chairs need to be wiped frequently as well as the chair cushions. Check in was desperately slow. No negatives. The extra charges for such as room safe and wifi. Ummm...nothing! :). They offer a gourmet breakfast limited to first two mornings you are there instead of any day you want. I was attending a conference that started early in the morning the first four days so I was not able to enjoy this. no free wifi. No really a bad comment but remember that oceanview room could mean pool/yard view with a glimpe of oceanview...and lawnmoyers early in the mornig but I know it has to be done. Bit outdated rooms, but that should not detract you!. We would have expected that wireless would be provided for free at least in teh lobby, pool and restaurant area. Lack of variety at breakfast (an egg station would be great) Poor quality of food at Tiki grill. Only one receptionist on the desk not at all friendly appeared not to enjoy interacting with guests, not helpful at all. All other staff great so makes up for the frumpy one. Walls were thin, could her neighbors very clearly. Original room, and perhaps the particular wing, has a toilet plumbing problem.. empties very slowly, or not at all. Was the reason why we were moved to an even better room, even though it was rectified by maintenence straight away! And thank you Esther, for the moving us just-in-case it happened again. I'm sure it's being fixed. :). Not enough people at the front desk The beds were not comfortable. We were disappointed with guest services. This was my husband and myself's second visit. We took the time to return our original kulki beads to be restrung...and the were missed placed. They had a lot of sentimental value to us....we were also told we would be given an upgrade...it was our 35 wedding anniversary...plus we had brought over a family of ten...however when we got there we were told nothing was available...and no other accommodations were offered...not great for business. Aunts in our bathroom! All over and when we reported they said they sprayed but they didn't go away. Nothing. Could use some updating Different pools kids/adults. cool. Parking: far from room and had to pay. No Internet (extra charge)! Small bathroom. Sliding glass door screens broken. The first morning breakfast was not stated well! It made no mention of only being for 3 nights or more. Very embarressing to be asked in the lobby if we would be attending to be told in front of everyone there that it must be over 2 nights stay. Weak brakfast proposal. Very early close swiming pool. Prices are going up. Pretty soon, might as well stay at the Westin or Hyatt. Cheap in room coffee Very slow service at outdoor Tiki Bar.

Important information to guests

Guest rooms sleep up to a maximum of 4 people, including children. Guests making online reservations with more than 2 persons per room will be contacted by the hotel reservations department to complete the booking adding additional person costs. Any rates with breakfast are for adults only (18 years old and older). All children can purchase breakfast directly through the restaurant.
