all reviews » We arrived at the hotel about 3 hours before check-in to drop off our bags but to our surprisement, our room was avaliable and we even got an upgrade because someone cancelled! The room was small - as any hotel room is in nyc but I could tell right away it was very clean (hard to find in nyc). There was no view but for the price (approx. $200/Night), I did not expect one. Staff was extremely pleasant and helpful - 5 stars for customer service. This was my boyfriend and my 4th overnight trip to . Before booking a read some reviews, some of them said the room was kind of small, but the room actually is a pretty good size (not too big but not too small for a NY room), with a small bar, a big shower, flat TV, and a very comfortable bed, desk with internet connection, chair and sofa chair. It's classic and elegant. It had an iHome. Love the fact that once you check out, the hotel can keep your luggage at no cost while you take last walk to the city.One 1/2 block from Time Squares, close to . The staff couldn't have been more accommodating to every request. When they ran out of regular coffee pods for the Kuerig coffee pot in our room, Patrick, at the reception desk, was apologetic and immediately sent up a complimentary pot of coffee with a promise of another the next morning! The location of the Cassa was perfect for us since we were there primarily for the theater, and we found perfectly fine places to eat within walking distance. We would definitely return!. We enjoyed our stay at the Cassa hotel. I can not comment on the standard room we should have stayed in, because we were upgraded to an exec room which was very nice especially the size of the bed it was very much appreciated. The location is perfect, close to most things we wanted to see. Stephanie Colovic was probably the nicest hotel worker I have ever met. Even before we arrived I called to ask advice on Theatre tickets and tourism. She actually stayed on the phone with me for 20 minutes helping me. I couldn't have been more impressed with her service. She really went over and above. Everyone who worked there was very kind and professional. Excellent location close to Times Square. The bed is so comfortable & the rooms overall is very modern with lovely toiletries, robes & slippers supplied...which was a real surprise as the hotel is very very reasonably priced for nyc. The staff were very helpful too. We got to the hotel around midday & our room was ready...which is always nice after a long flight. We got upgraded to a suite so felt we had plenty of space. The bathroom was very new and very nice. The bed was enormous and the mattress was great. We slept really well. Friends had told me I could expect a view to a wall, but we had view to the streets and could see a snippet of a far away horizon. We really enjoyed it and would come again. And location is perfect for travellers in New York. The location is very convenient, just a few blocks from Times Square. The room (upgraded to Executive) was large enough and the bathroom was very modern and beautiful (above all the shower). It is not a big business hotel, more a "boutique" hotel. You didn't have a restaurant when we were visiting but that didn't bother us because your location was so great. So we weren't too concerned. Really disappointed at the cost of wifi...$15 For 24 hours!!. The restaurant area was being renovated, so we never had our meals at the hotel. Also, internet access was free on the 10 th floor, but in the rooms you had to pay an extra 10 dollars. No free Wifi, no breakfast included (but you can easily find a place to have breakfast just in two steps from the hotel - the breakfast in the hotel is unreasonably overpriced). Expensive Wifi. (Never could really understand why you get free wifi at a cheap hostel, but have to pay for it in a 5-Star hotel...) Expensive breakfast, but there are a few cafes just around the corner. complimentry wifi in the rooms would be good - $15 for 24 hrs for 3 devices can quickly add up & in this day & age wifi should be as standard. Our bill was also quite a bit more then expected on checkout - even considering taxes - have to go through the final receipt again but got a bit of a shock when I checked the credit card bill! about $150 I can't account for - but again, have to check the final receipt. Whilst the restaurant is under refurb it was disappointing not to be able to get a hot drink whenever you wanted one or have access to food at any point in the day. It would not put me off returning though. Really none. In the room there was just a very small closet, so we had to keep our clothes in the suitcase. We did not have breakfast there as the price is quite high, and the lounge at 10th floor is not so beautiful, with a strong smell of sausages. Poorly placed power outlets (only on the desk, across the room from the bed) and a baby ironing board that you had to set on top of the desk to use, despite having space in the closet for a full sized ironing board (really frustrating). Accommodation in New York is just very pricey, I did get value for money with my accommodation, when compared to other comparable hotels. no free wifi, breakfast not good value for money, breakfast could be included in hotel asking prices for what they are offering, double bed is very short and narrow, no free coffee or tea available in the room,. Nothing. Room size is very small. No shelves in the shower to put any toiletries or soap etc. no hooks on bathroom hooks on wall to hang towels and robes. No coffee or tea making facilities. Tiny tabletop ironing board with no surfaces to put it on. Nothing !!. We stayed for a week in 2 rooms classified as 'superior doubles' - there was only a tiny amount of wardrobe /storage space so we had to keep our clothes in cases- a real pain!. The windows of both rooms were v dirty. WIFI v expensive. Coming home. only one shortcoming - the lack of cupboard/drawer space....but that didn't spoilt the holiday. the lighting in the room was inadequate and hard to find the switch on one. Can't think of anything. No signage outside the hotel so it was hard to find. Internet was charged separately. A bit expensive for my taste. No tea/coffee making in room. Rooms are a bit small in size (we were in Grand Deluxe) and also not enough lighting at night time. I reserved a room with two beds and then told I could not have done that online. There very few extras at this hotel. No room service. Restaurant is really only for breakfast and very pricey. - Noisy air conditioner when switching to heating mode. - Sound proofing of the room can be improved. Couldn't get on the internet. My only complaint- the pillows too soft...i was using 4 to sleep and still felt too low on the bed but that's if you like sleeping a bit propped up....otherwise no negatives. I wish there was an exercise room on location. Chairs in the room, not comfortable. Room floor cold. NO free wifi provided to guest. when next room using the shower there are lots of noise. The price of laundry was way too expensive. We had to pay 176 USD for 3 shirts and few underwear and sock which was insane. No wifi included in the room. We were more than pleased with our stay though!. Nothing. no free wifi. Rooms a little small, even after an upgrade, Restaurant / lounge very good for breakfast, but quiet/soulless in the evening. Nothing. nada.
