Location could not have been better. Quiet safe street, just a few blocks from everything there is to see in FQ New Orleans. Character of the building made you "feel" like you were in NOLA. Staff was also amazing. Very accommodating, friendly, helpful. Will definitely recommend to friends who visit the area. Bed was extremely comfortable and linens and towels were very good quality.
all reviews » My husband and I have been to New Orleans many times and have stayed everywhere throughout the city. This was probably our favorite place for location, budget, cleanliness and privacy. It felt like we had our own apartment and you really get the full Quarter experience being in the heart of the neighborhood. Easy walk to everything!. The rooms were cozy, well kept, and clean. It was exactly what I was looking for - it had a very New Orleans feel to it with a really cute courtyard. Although it was close to Bourbon Street, it was quiet and accessible. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating, and happy to help with anything I needed. The price, it average $111 per night. They had different rates during the weekends. CLEAN! CLEAN! CLEAN! I was amazed how dirty is New Orleans (flying roaches, rats, trash everywhere) I assume they fumigate like every month, because I didn't even see a mosquito in the room!. The staff members were very kind and helpful. I stayed at the property as a part of my "staycation." As a local person, I learned info from the staff that I didn't know. The bed was extremely comfortable too. I slept very well and it was overall good stay. We bring our bicycles and the convienence of having the courtyard right outside our room to keep the bikes was great. The location is great if you want to be right in the French Quarter. The room was small but quaint. Very comfy bed. We would stay again. The place had a lot of character, and knowing we were staying in Marie Laveau's old guest house added something as well. The room was really nice and always clean. Definitely somewhere I would consider staying again if I was back in New Orleans. It was an excellent location being close to the dining spots, Bourbon Street and in the French Quarter. Even despite this though, I thought the layout made very good use of the space and it proved to be very comfortable and provided us all the room we needed to comfortably get ready each day without feeling cramped of frustrated. We loved everything!. I would have liked to see a city guide in the room, and possibly a television channel guide. Other than those small issues, it was the perfect room!. No early check-in, we had to wait for a little bit until the guy let us in, he didn't introduce himself, so I wasn't sure who he was. And I felt uneasy leaving my baggage until I waited for our room to be ready, they don't give you a ticket, or put them in a closet. Only one soap, we asked for more, but it's nicer not to have to ask. No coffee pot in the room. No hot water when we arrived. They were replacing the hot water heaters and workmen were banging in the room adjacent. My friends calling from New Zealand and the us kept getting off.Also one day I was left only 1clean towel. Slow internet, sometimes it didn't worked at all. Water in the shower was not very hot. Room was small and there was no breakfast, but this seems to be standard in the French Quarter. The room I was in was smaller. Only public parking. Drove around for 30 min finding a spot. Bed was too small. It does not have a restaurant. Needs trash location bedroom and cheaper parking options. Nô Windows. Having to wait outside to get in. Tiny room. When making our reservation, we were told we'd have a king-size bed in the annex. Had we been given that bed, there would have been no floor space to walk on! The bathroom, though ample in size lacked a counter top next to the wash basin, and adequate water pressure (it took 5 minutes to get hot water to flow), but more importantly, the tub was super-slippery with no grab bars: very risky for the elderly. Room had no windows, so no natural light nor ventilation. Plumbing problem on one day -no running water in morning - although repaired by evening, room hadn't been cleaned. Good standards of cleaning on all other days. Only additional facility outside of room was coffee in hallway. Paid for breakfast but didn't get any. No change of towels in 4 days. Tiny room, was very cold and window did not close properly and wind blew under door, staff not always present, took al long time to get hangars and a hair dryer. One of the staff kept calling everyone "Babe", not appropriate, nice clean place but felt they had a lot of nerve charging the prices they charges. I did not get a receipt when I checked out. I was told it would be e- mailed to me but so far it has not arrived. Tiny and noisy room. Parking off site is awful!! That is a safety issue!!. No staff. We found 2 cockroaches in our bedroom. Yuck! Our bedroom was much smaller than I expected. It was like a box with noise of air-conditioning outside. No elevator, no breakfast, no bar or restaurant. OUr key did not work and we had to wait for someone to come. Location is poor. The building is old and not well kept. They should have given us a discount for the small room.Very dissapointing!.
