Very good shuttle service to and from the airport, made life very easy. Bags could be stored for collection at a later date which made travelling a lot easier as we didn't have to take all our camping stuff when visiting other places. Food was good and breakfasts made delightful especially by the really lovely waitress who was always interested in our travels. Location was good, near to downtown and also walking trails. Bed very comfortable and all amenities with coffee making machine in room. .
all reviews » Compared to other hotels in the area, I liked that it was budget- friendly. We stayed at the hotel to meet up with our tour group. Your front desk clerk was extremely professional and helpful when we stayed the night of June 15, 2013. Would stay again when we are in Anchorage. The staff is an asset to your hotel. Spacious room with microwave, fridge and kitchen sink. Only needed a cooktop and some crockery to be an appartment. Spacious bathroom. Easy walk into the city but don't e spect much from downtown Anchorage. Bar and restaurant in hotel and not to far to the nearest Safeway. Good location and the upper floor rooms have great views. Each room has a small kitchen which makes it very conveninet.The restaraunt bar in int hotel has good food and is convenient. Its a good place to stay if business keeps you in Anchorage for more than a few days. 24 hour desk was handy as we arrived on a late flight. Bed was very comfortable and nice large room. Also very nice eatery attached and 2 for 1 breakfast option was thrown in. Not that far from downtown. The customer service was great. Monica in particular. She went out of her way to help us find our way and make suggestions of things to do even made us dinner reservations. Location was good- close to downtown.Rooms were above average sized. ery nice restaraunt-bar on site. Staff very polite. Upper floor rooms had fantastic views. The hotel allowed dogs. The staff was very friendly, informative and helpful. I like that they offer free shuttle service around town, it makes getting around so much easier for those who are just passing through as we were before our cruise. We also ate in the little café downstairs and the staff was great and the food was pretty tasty. The shuttle to and from the airport is a fantastic inclusion. The hotel is within easy walking distance to lots of Anchorage attractions. Position close to city centre, views from the room. convenient to city and the Jacuzzi tub was great. The location. the restaurant is the best feature in this hotel. A bit disorganised with their bookings at times. Not all the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, a 'how to deal with people' course would be good! However we eventually dealt with one very good lady but unfortunately can't remember her name to praise her but she checked us out. We only stayed for one night but we were very pleased with our selection. Could not find any dislikes. They need to spend some money on decent pillows. Two pathetic pillows which we needed to raise using the bed cover to get any decent height. Staff is polite but won't go out of its way to help you with a problem. Beds were not comfortable, one in our room seemed to have broken springs. Not emough guest parking. Rooms a bit dated but clean and have air conditioning and also a window that opens. Biggest problem was lack of guest parking- most of the lot was reserved for non-guests. This was bad enough that it makes me reconsider staying there again. Hotel and rooms were a bit dated but not bad. There were no kitchen utensils. There were not enough bathroom towels. Good value for money in expensive Anchorage. A bit outdated. The room decor & bathrooms were a bit dated. Need more lighting in hallways. Room was a little dingy and run-down. The upper floors of the hotel were really old-looking and slightly scary. Heater did not work!!! Slept in my fleece jacket to stay warm. 6 blocks walk to town. We reserved 3 separate nights. 1st night no problem. 3rd night no problem. 2nd night problem between letsbookhotel.com and hotel. When we went to check in there was no reservation for us. Barely any hotels in the city had rooms. Finally found a room at a cheap hotel. Yuk. the room was average but clean. Very small elevator. Need new tv stands those take up to much room. The lobby area is fine, but the rooms really need to be updated. They still have tube TVs and the décor is very outdated. The bed was not that comfortable and the sheets appeared to be very old and worn...there was a tiny hole in ours and they were kind of dingy. Not all of the staff are helpful or friendly. Decor a bit outdated, fitness room with broken equipment,. Could change channels but not turn the TV on or off with remote & room was not shinny clean looking. The parking situation was very limited.They need to re-think their assigned/reserved parking policy and open up more spots for guests. I've stayed there several times, but due to the limited parking policy, I will not be back... Parking situation was terrible. Most of the parking places were reserved. By the end of our 6 night stay, they were down to less than 10 parking places for guests and several of those were handicapped. Old. Very small room. Could use some serious updating. We had 3 rooms total in this reservation and were spread on 3 different floors, 2 rooms had air conditioning and 1 didn't . I know they were painting the halls-but I hope all the rooms and halls will be redone-very old hotel!Had to move us to another room because of paint smell. Had to call desk for room to be cleaned at 3 pm-not enough towels for 2 people-no soap. Many of the items that were listed on their website (free shuttle to attractions within 5 miles of hotel, etc) were not available once we got there. As a result, we incurred expenses for taxis that we had not planned on. The wet damp smell, sticky carpets. 1. the pillows were terrible 2. the toilet didn't work properly 3. the most important dislike was the bed bugs in our room's beds. rm # 210 both my son and I had numerous bites on our legs and brief bans on wake up on Sunday morning the 8th. the hotel needs an urgent renovation,everything looks tired and outdated and was very overpriced.
