Hotel rooms in Anchorage during the summer are outrageously priced. Coming here to shop and paying those prices is tough. This hotel is a good answer to that problem. The accommodations were adequately comfortable. The hotel walls are somewhat thin and there is a lot of outdoor noise ie: train, traffic, pedestrians. The carpeting is older but the bed though firm was comfortable, the staff very friendly and the room clean. We will go here again.
all reviews » The room was spacious, great location in the middle of the city, walking distance to everything you want to see and good restaurants, friendly staff, they let us to check out really late. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, had no problems at all, room was clean, i would definetly stay here again on my next trip. Your staff went above and beyond to help me with all my needs. I will stay here again anytime I need a hotel. The location of the Lofts and the price...the customer service was great.... The "Alaska feel " And a great breakfast biscuit !. Wonderful and responsive management and staff. Location and price. Location was good, within walking distance to center of town. Name has not been changed on the map and when we asked about Loft, we realised it was Howard Johnson previously. Guessed it is quite affordable as compared to the rest of the hotels right in the city. We stayed only one night and thus able to get thro with it but for longer stay, wont recommend this. The staffs are very friendly and tried to fix everything that not working. close to downtown but a lot of noise. friendly, helpful desk person. Location to downtown. not a lot. This is an old Howard Johnson's motel that is being refurnished. Shows its age but for the money for a short stay its ok. Hiusekeeping. They need to work on that , absolutely unacceptable housekeeping service. old, smelling in room not so good. Bath fan. Hotel is rather run down and not much service. Doesn't appear too clean as interiors and carpet are old. Need to get up a flight of stairs for all rooms, whether its on 1st level or 3rd level which makes it difficult for heavy luggages. Many thing didn't work and we had to change our room four time. Room1 bare bed without sheet, room 2 the key for the room didnt work, room 3 the phone and toilet were not working, and finally room 4 was the best. Although the room was equipped with a mini kitchen area, there is no basic cookwares. For two days, there is no room service. the room not so clean. the smell of the old carpet and old decoration. The cafeteria is open but there one to serve you a cup coffee. we went difference times to get a drink but it is a dead place. holes in window coverings and lamp shade, dirty carpet, trashy bottle and vomit strewn steps. Cleanliness and the beds. not much. The rooms were not clean, we had to change to another room. The ambiance is like a student home, and actually it is one. I definitely don't recommend this hotel!. Smelled of disinfecting spray the tv did not work. Tried to call the front desk, phone did not work. I went to bed. Next day I was leaving the room to check out and the elevator did't work 3rd floor.3 Bags 84 yrs old. Askfor part refund.
