Great people! They are very attentive to both the B&B and to their guests. This was our first stay at a B&B. I was soo excited to see how clean and neat everything was and our room, The Avalon House B & B was, everything I was hoping for and more. When we couldn't make breakfast on our last day (which was really sad because breakfast was AMAZING), the manager packed us a delicious, nutritious breakfast to go. The personal touches were everything. You can't go wrong with The Ava.
all reviews » Manager went over and above to make us feel welcome - we were in St Albans for the half marathon and he was more than happy to let us use the room again after check out time to shower after the race, which was very much appreciated. Location was excellent for access to St Albans and visiting a relative in the Camp Road area. Breakfast was very good and served with a smile. Bed and room comfortable for the price. Good hotel / pub restaurant just down the road. The manager was extremely helpful. We arrived late, thirsty and tired and he stayed up to greet us and gave us drinks from the kitchen. Room was clean, comfortable, cosy and warm and the building was lovely and well kept. From the moment we arrived at Avalon House B&B, we were greeted with genuine hospitality and friendliness. Comfortable accommodation and clean. Comfortable Room, Good breakfast, Usefull location with Buses to St Albans from outside. Helpfull staff and adequate parking. Would stay again. I liked the friendliness of all the staff and the helpfulness of them also, The room was clean,comfortable and the breakfast was very nice indeed. Lovely B&B, reasonably priced with good choice of breakfast. Rooms were clean & comfortable. The Manager was very helpful and accommodating. Newly refurbed so nice and fresh and clean. Clean comfortable B&B close to M25/M1/A1 and easy access to London via train. Breakfast was worth the wait - it was really filling and cooked to my liking. Keith was very friendly and helpful. Was handy to our friends who lived in St Albans. hotel was ok. Location and price. It was clean. There was nohing t like,a disjusting bnb,not as viewed on line as a hotel,. N/A. Walls were paper thin with a very personal phone call in the next room. Had to put headphones on to block it out. Lack of communication. The cleaner was told the room was empty and burst in on me. Very apologetic, but showed how important good communication is. No harm done though. Nothing. There wasn't anything I didn't like. Nothing. Rooms quite small as building is old and no lounge area if you are waiting for people or if friends and colleagues need to wait for you. There is a breakfast room so we waited in there to be collected by family but the Manager was only doing us a favour due to the fact that the breakfast room was supposed to be closed. A15 minute walk to pubs and restraunts. could have had some biscuits with the tea/coffee. I think a non slip surface in the shower would be a benefit. The noise from the main road outside. The bed was not comfortable and not enough pillows on the bed. The smell of the corridors, food smell coming from the other room opposite. Position of tv in room. Nothing. The shower in the room was pretty poor, a hair dryer would have been very useful in the room. noisy at night, found out the hotel houses benefit people, ive no problem with them, but no work for them meant they came in at all hours. My friends room was not good, to small, in the loft, small bath, when we wanted a en suite with shower. Bit expensive have stayed in cheaper accommodation which was better value for money. Breakfast requirements not available like hot sauce & mustard. the smell of fresh paint. Service, room cleanliness,. Shower was barely warm, radiator gave little or no heat, small TV. WiFi only worked in one part of the room. Lights that were on motion sensors in all of the public areas but were very quick to turn off. Decor. Dirty drab unwelcoming hovel best decribes the avalon,not a hotel as sold by booking .com.needs complete make over,booked a twin room ended up with 2 seperates,nothing we payed for did we get...
