The owners were both extremely helpful and friendly. We were contacted by phone a week before arrival to confirm that our requests for our Ruby Anniversary weekend had been met. The entire staff were very attentive and ... what people say » eager to please. Full marks here! The hotel location is superb and is quiet, but only 5 minutes from main roads leading to Silverdale, the Lakes and t - Warm welcome from the staff and landlord. Bar staff, waiters seemed part of a warm team enjoying their jobs. The pub/hotel is pet friendly. We had our medium sized, well-behaved dog in the bedroom, and in breakfast with us one day. The waiter helped with a bowl for leftovers/water. The hotel is in a great location overlooking the tidal Kent estuary. Good walks nearby, Leighton Moss RSPB reserve, regular train service to local stations north and south.

Downstairs - I came to Penrith for a last minute festival participation and found Norcroft through this site. It is much better value than similar establishments, great breakfasts are made to order each morning and owner Paul bends over backwards to accommodate, he is truly a class act. (He will drive you wherever you need to go if he is available and at a much better rate than the local taxis.) The place is just off the downtown core and is spotless with nice modern bathrooms. I truly lucked out with this
