convenience of location and price. Convenience - all that we needed. Excellent location and reasonably priced. The shower didn't work properly due to a installation problem, the bathroom wasn't clean at all.
The breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. free parking. Locality to the Manchester Academy 1,2 and 3 venue, Whitworth Art Gallery and Park was a 5 minute walk away. Amenties were a short walk away which included post office, food chains and pubs. It was close to the university campus and I had a key for the front door, so I could come and go as I pleased. The staff is very nice and helpful. the price. The hotel was not clean we had to buy cleaning materials to clean itourselves, they insisted on payment before we saw the room if not wewould definately not stayed there. It's location. Nothing. not enough plug sockets,. Woke up a lot during the night because could hear people moving about upstairs, and someone knocking on a door at 5:40am. Unfortunately many things in room needed attention. Obviously as things deteriorated they had not been seen to.Information on bedroom door out of date.rooms a little dirty and worn. Bathroom mouldy and floor not exactly clean. Staff were polite throughout but very reserved.bacon not available for breakfast - possibly on account of owners' religious beliefs - however, kitchen staff not obviously of same ethnic/cultural group and it could have been made available or guests warned. Room facilities a bit decrepit. Though bedsheets and pillowcases were changed, previous guest had pungent deodorant/aftershave/perfume and top cover and one pillow needed changing/cleaning. Poor quality breakfast. Cleanliness needs looking at - especially bathrooms. mouldy room. The decor was very dated, the shower was very old and only dripped water out, kettle was very old, didnt use the coffee and tea making facitlies as they seemed grubby. The Hotel is obviously very old and has not had any refurbishment carried out. The breakfast was not good quality and was only luke warm when served, I had paid for four nights BandB but I only had the breakfast on one morning. I feel it's a great shame the hotel has not had any resources but back into refurbishment as it is in a great location.I wish I had read the reviews before booking!!. The beds are rather uncomfortable and the rooms were not clean. mould in the bedroom, pillows like paper. The lack of cleanliness. Loose wires hanging from TV which didn't work, firedoors wedged open, general cleanliness, attitude of staff, shower temp not regulated, broken vending machine ...The taxi driver described it as a "shed". He was not wrong. The room was filthy, electrical wires hanging out of the walls, they refused to accept the Amex card I booked under. The TV did not work. The breakfast was disgusting. It was awful. The bed was uncomfortable, the shower did not drain and the whole hotel is tired and needing an update. - Dirty bathroom (very), small room, poor breakfast. I would never recommend this hotel. filthy. graffiti on walls, cockroaches in bathroom, no tv, no hairdryer, no temp controll on shower. This place did not know the meaning of clean or customer service. hotel was shabby through out the hotel. needed painting ,holes in walls dirty radiator downstairs hallway to kitchen. gave us a single room with double bed, carpet was very badly stained shower had plastic curtains tiles were cracked and mouldy. changed our room which was slightly better, but had a heater with a broken leg, cracked cup. bedding though shabby was clean.
