Shuttle service was ideal for me. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room and bed were very comfortable and clean and I was able to have a good nights sleep before an early start to fly to France for meetings the next day.Relatively quiet- some traffic noise until late. It was ideal for my needs. great location for airport, basic hotel, but has very friendly staff, giving all good service. good valve for money. very clean rooms and public areas. breakfast was plentiful, and constantly topped up with fresh supplies. I have already re booked, because we have a late return flight.
all reviews the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. They informed me about the shuttle bus and although we were leaving at 5 am they suggested providing a banana and glass of milk for my 6 yr old daughter as breakfast was not available! That was really thoughtful of them. Great value for money and very convenient for the airport. Welcome by staff was excellent. Shower was hot. room was clean . Parking was easy and I thought £5 for 24 hours was very reasonable. Also very easy to find. I didn't use the restaurant but a it looked nice. Staff member we met was extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. He was a young guy of about 20 but was exceptionnally professional. The room was clean, the bed cosy and it suited our needs perfectly- a room for the night before we caught our flight home. I Travell often so i stayed at this location when it was travellodge more than once but since it has been taken over and now manchester the cleanliness of the hotel has so much improved it went from 1 staar to three in my book. From signing in to signing out everything was excellent. Staff, room cleanliness AND for the first time we had shower gel and soap. We have stayed here several times as it is very convenient for the airport. I loved the friendly staff and also the environment of the hotel.Also included is the internet and shuttle services which made things really easy.Manchester lodge can also be called home away from home. It was like we expected; simple, but clean and essential for staying one night before living. Not cold, as I read in other posts. Very good the idea to offer a coffee or tea for breakfast in the room. The rooms are basic but you get what you pay for. I had a very nice meal in the café/bar during my stay, the hotel is ideally placed for the airport and the shuttle bus provides a very good service. No alarm clock, hair drier or comfortable chair in room. In the car park the bins were overflowing giving it an unkempt look. The young man on the reception was unable to print out my invoice. There could be an improvement on the food. We had a real problem choosing something from the menu. We chose a selection of things - fishcakes - tasteless, bbq spare ribs - I don't know what was on these - some sauce couldn't eat it and a bowl of chips which were not quite cooked and cold. They did replace these but the next lot were still the same. I really think that the menu and chefs need to be looked at. The facilities are a little difficult to get to grips with. There are no vending machines etc so that the distance from the local shops make it not terrific. On approach, The sign indicating the hotel was placed with its back to the traffic so it was invisible until after you pass it, and then only if you look back. The restaurant was a bit spartan being combined with the bar. Nothing, or may be paying the parking charge. Nothing to dislike for me personally. The selection of drinks in the bar (we didn't stay long enough to find a real negative!). A bit hard to reach by public transport - buses are rare and not easy to find. The accommodation was basic that said you get what you pay for. Shuttle bus £8.oo or taxi the same costs to the terminal. But they were prompt and very pleasant staff. Car park charges. you really have to use a taxi to and from airport so this adds 10 quid to the price. Food was quite expensive £10 for a cheese pizza is abit excessive. The menu was not the best also the rooms was clean but to much spare they looked bare. The room no 249 had the most uncomfortable lumpy bed in which we have ever slept on and hope that the rest of the hotel rooms are not the same. We would not reccomend this hotel on this basis only. Everything else was fine. the room was really cold and there were no additional covers in the room. the bar could serve food for a bit longer than it did. The beds were really lumpy and uncomfortable. cobwebs in room no room brochure for facilities. Dining chaotic, Dinner: We waited 40 mins for meals (starters) that involved no cooking. We were not alone. Breakfast: Requires a complete review of layout and service. eg juice glasses were hot (in the sun), plates cold. No bacon for long period. Sausages cremated but left out to be eaten. No brown bread. No apparent overall supervisor. Going from the airport took far too long: we were told we would have to wait about five minutes for the taxi minibus and it took half an hour. Room too hot (no air con). Bed mattress not comfortable. Would have liked a hairdryer in the bedroom. I ordered several drinks in the bar restaurant which came from 2 fridges that I don't think were turned on? warm drinks...Yuk... Room tired and in need of redecoration Car parking an additional £5 per day. Paying £5 for a parking place at a hotel!!. not applicable.
