I was really impressed the way hospitable and friendly the staff was. They helped us all the time, gave us the needed advice and were always polite. If we had to go to other city, - they showed us the way, if we had a problem, then they solved it easily. In Orient Hostel we felt like in big family, knowing some nice people from all over the world. all reviews » The hostel staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful and we really enjoyed spending time with them. The hostel is located right near the historic area of Istanbul. You can get in just minutes to Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sofia, The Blue Mosque or Basilica Cistern. It is also very easy to get to the hostel from Sultanahmet tram station. One big plus is that the hostel was very clean. Also, we had breakfast included in the room price and the hostel had safety boxes to keep our valuables. I would rec. I stayed in a private room which was warm, nice and clean. All staff are very friendly and helpful. The cafe is very good for make friends to new people and a couple of drink plus you can enjoy live football matches. Food at the cafe is nice too. I had Kofte and it was very nice. Location is very good for a city tours. The perfect view of the sea while you have breakfast. I would stay here again if i come back to Istanbul. It is one of the best hostel I have ever been! The staff is fantastic friendly and helpfull. There is a very nice bar downstairs in chaikhana style with a chill out playlist and good food. For those who doesn't like noise, the hostel is located within a very crowded street. kind of loud at night, party atmosphere can be a little fraty, bunks in shared rooms are very close together—easy to get woken up at night. The bar is a bit noisy when you're trying to sleep but easy enough to tune out to. Staff spoke very basic English.
