We (mum, older brother and I) absolutely loved our stay at Nar Galata hotel. We stayed there for 17 days, so it truly became our home and it was a great hotel. The staff were wonderful and SO helpful. The rooms were perfect size and able to fit all our stuff and we had HEAPS of stuff. The breakfast was amazing - SO much variety! The hotel is located very close to Galata tower where there are heaps of people always visiting but we heard absolutely no noise - ever. It was perfect. The tram/metro .

Nar Hotel jest najleps. The location couldn't be better - just a short walk down to the tram or a short walk up to Sishane Metro and the Tunel. Beds very comfortable with good air conditioning. Breakfast also great as apart from the usual Turkish breakfast, they also served eggs. Plus there is water and coffee and tea throughout the day in the foyer. Stayed here for 5 nights while seeing Istanbul. Staff is excellent, location is unbeatable (right near all great Beyoglu shopping and trendy restaurants, 5-minute walk to Galata bridge), breakfast is terrific. Stay was not expensive and rooms were clean and well-stocked. The location is fantastic - Galata is buzzing with young and modern up and coming artists and designers with cool coffee shops and stores, for a first time visit it is perfectly located between the old city and taksim where all the bars are (walking distnace from istiklal street). Nothing negative for me but just some remarks: there are high stairs and no lift, breakfast starts late - at 8 am. Lack of storage for clothing and toiletries. Rooms are tiny. There is no elevator and the rooms are a bit small (charming, but still small). It can be a bit noisy if you are in the front rooms... No lift, it is inconvenient for tripping luggage. not all the personnel is fully proficient in English but they try to be helpful anyway. Glass walls of bathroom don't give much privacy. Bed was somewhat hard. There were cornflakes but no milk or yoghurt for breakfast. Galata has very steep streets which can be a bit of a challenge if carrying heavy bags. there in no elevator but this is because is old traditional bulding. Everything in the double room is tiny: shower, balcony, room itself as we had +1 for our teen age son. Had to share one electric socket. It was a little bit noisy on Saturday evening,because of the bar. Failing wi-fi. No elevator, rooms are not that sunny. Rooms are tiny and the walls are paper thin so it is very noisy. Some of the staff members are extremely unprofessional. Lack of an elevator. If staff knew English very well and history and geography of their city, and could answer questions about different places in Istanbul, and also if there were good breakfasts (there were no fruits, long waiting for meals when dishes were empty, kitchen staff except 1 guy didn't speak English), it would be a good boutique hotel. Room wasn't big, but it was cosy and clean. I didn't like the breakfast!. Super Noisy Worst breakfast ever.
