  We only had one night in this hotel and then moved to a 5 star in the Port Olympic area. The location of the Colonial hotel was fantastic. Across the street is a fantastic local area full of interesting resteraunts and bars.   We were really really lucky. We were given a room on the last floor (8th) which has a private balcony overlooking Barcelona and the Gothic quarter. The room was very fresh and clean and it was very nicely decorated. Mind you I am not very fond of modern design -- I typically like places from the beginning of the 20th centuary. The staff were really friendly and helpful,our double room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, with en suite including wall hair dryer and the option to have towels changed daily or to re-use. We stayed for a cold 5 days in February but the room air conditioning served very well as a heater as you were able to programme t... what people say » o whatever temperature you required. Breakfast was fine but the coffee was machine coffee, however the dining area leads on to the public restaurant/c - The location was wonderful. Had very close access to everything we wanted to do and see. You could have an inexpensive quick meal or sit down for a more elegant dining experience and all within a two minute walk. The staff was wonderfully helpful and competent. Santiago was a tremendous help to me when I was have some trouble with my airline. Everything is easily within walking distance. All in all it was a great location. We did have a room that did not face the street so we slept comfortably

  The staff was super friendly. They make you feel very welcome and give you many advices for your daily schedule if you ask. They provide you with towels for free and you can also change it if you need a new one. The breakfast is not luxury but at least there is a breakfast and for a few days it is totally fine :). Thanks for - Arco youth hostel was a fantastic place to stay. The manager was absolutely wonderful and helped us whenever we needed anything - from maps, restaurant suggestions, anything at all. There were many reviews that said that the hostel was difficult to find, but we had no problem finding it at all. It's right off of la Rambla and right around the corner from Starbucks! Great hostel and I'd recommend it to anyone.

  The hote is just wonderfull- the stuff is very kind and helpfull, room was very comfortable, although the bed was very big. - I normally don't stay at 3 stars hotel. However I had to because only 3 stars offered wifi in the rooms. That was a nice upgrade.
