Great central location. The staff were really friendly and helpful,our double room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, with en suite including wall hair dryer and the option to have towels changed daily or to re-use. We stayed for a cold 5 days in February but the room air conditioning served very well as a heater as you were able to programme to whatever temperature you required. Breakfast was fine but the coffee was machine coffee, however the dining area leads on to the public restaurant/c.
all reviews » The location was wonderful. Had very close access to everything we wanted to do and see. You could have an inexpensive quick meal or sit down for a more elegant dining experience and all within a two minute walk. The staff was wonderfully helpful and competent. Santiago was a tremendous help to me when I was have some trouble with my airline. Everything is easily within walking distance. All in all it was a great location. We did have a room that did not face the street so we slept comfortably . The Hostal was perfectly located for all that we wanted to see. It was a stone's throw from the Liceu Metro which gave access to the whole city. A T-10 ticket for 10€ (half normal price) gives 10 rides on any of the city's public transport. The room was small but well equipped with a modern en-suite. Breakfast which was included was excellent and plentiful, a great start to the day of sight seeing. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed Barcelona and our stay at the Hostal Fernando!. Great location in the gothic quarter of Barcelona. We had a balcony over looking the street which was nice. It was a bit noisy at night but it only woke me once. The doors do a great job of making it quiet. Also never heard any other guests. Great en suite double room in a great location! Breakfast offers everything you need to get you started for the day. Cheap and cheerful. Also it was great to have somewhere to put your bags after check out for free. The location was good, just off the La Rambles so wasn't noisy but close to the main strip, metros and shopping. The staff were good and helpful with all our questions. We got a double room with ensuite which was cleaned every day and comfortable and a good size. Breakfast was ok but the yoghurt and milk were warm. It is good for a budget conscious traveller. The best thing was the location between the Ramblas and Jaume square. Near to "Liceu" and "Jaume" subway station. The hostal is located in the gothic block, a very easy and nice to walk around. A lot of good and cheep restaurants nearby. It was a cozy hostal with a very friendly staff. The continental breakfast was enought for a couple with a child. Hotel was brilliant, central location, friendly staff, clean, good free breakfast, brilliant price esp in height of season, the city, amazing, lots of history, culture, activities and tours, sights to see and do, beach and good balance of nightlife for all occasions, will return, and back to same hotel too!! thanks all. The Hotel was centrally located with shops, restaurants and Metro close by. The staff were very helpful in suggesting restaurants, finding tours, answering any questions asked. It was clean and comfortable. The walking tour that started there was wonderful. I would definitely stay there again. Loved the location very handy to everything. Short bed if you are taller than 180 cm. Breakfast should be more varied, add some fruit and vegetables. Very basic breakfast, as you can expect. Quite small rooms. For us, it was a bit noisy at night as most clientele were young backpackers. Limited facilities, but lots nearby. because of the great location (near Lambra) it was a little bit noisy. Heating was only working when in room (controlled by the key). It took two days to get a new bulb (lamp). Breakfast: only toast, but that's to be expected probably for this price. Wi fi did not work. 1- i could not complain but the breakfast i did not like it . The shower water pressure was low. Free Wifi is not available in the whole hotel. The bedding at first did not look Fresh. But seeing the efforts of the cleaning staff, we were assured of its cleanliness. Nothing. Nothing importaint. The breakfast buffe was very simple. The youghurt and milk were servered at room temperature. They didn't clean for a whole day if you left your room after 11am. A bit noisy.
