i was in the annexe and there was a lovely view of the street and the christmas decorations. close to the railway , room have balcony and fan. Good location and easy to find. Being in the centre of the old city where we wanted to be. third time at hotel,staff very helpfull.That it is very close to a Metro. it was very close to center. The location was great.

The Superior room in the annex was pleasant. Public payphone in the hall. The walls and doors of the saloon in the first floor are magnificently decorated.Friendly and efficient staff, efficiency considerably above the average of hotels in Barcelona on this price level. The location was very good.very good location. I liked the location because it was in the middle of Barri Gòtic. However, because it was in the middle of this busy part of the city, it was very noisy even into the wee hours of the morning despite the fact that I was on the fourth floor. The evening hotel manager was very helpful even though he did not speak a single word of English; he recommended Els Quatre Gats which is a must-go.Excellent location and a comfortable, well-appointed room for the greatvalue price. In the saloon sofas and ceiling disturbed the impression the walls and doors made.Very noisy during the night, felt that the walls were made of paper. a bit noisy location. Impossible to prevent flooding the bathroom - and part of the bedroom -when taking a shower. the bath towels need changing. it woulb be better if small fridges were in the rooms. I did not like being forced to give my keys to the receptionist whenever I wanted to go out.street was a bit loud, but on the other hand one lives directly in the heart of Barcelona. The towels were like sand paper.Very hot in room. towels could do with a replacement, and the wall could do with sound-proofing unless you like to hear your neighbour snoring. There is a bathtub but no stop, also there is a TV but no remote. We were put in a double bed instead off twin, with no alternative.Very basic but good location. The bathroom was rather small. the rooms are very basic, and kinda clean. The value fro money is a bit of a rip off. Noisy. bed. Room I was allocated on third floor was too hot even though there wasa huge fan in the room. It was 80 degrees outside but warmer than thatin my room. The door to the balcony didn't close properly so it was cold at night;the shower was too small; the bed was too short; no double glazing -which meant it was very noisy (it's the noisiest part of town so doubleglazing is essential); the staff were lazy (didn't even say thanks whenI left); no decoration in room. Not at all like the photos they used onthe letsbookhotel.com website. Some reception staff not very friendly, not much English spoken. On two occasions as we were passing through reception area we heard complaints about money, travellers cheques, etc going missing from rooms. Hotel used non-mastercard currency converter to pay account - 2% markup. When queried all I got was blank facial expression and shrug of the shoulders.Room was small and rather scary. The room was quite dirty, furniture was broken and paint was peeling off the walls. The toilet seat was broken and a request to have it fixed was ignored. Sleeping was difficult as the noise level was very high, caused by constant slamming of the lift door throught the night.None of the employees speaks English or German. I tried in threedifferent European languages but only body language worked. The firstroom we got was extremely dirty. Then we got a slightly better one,where "only" the bathroom door did not work (you could not shut it), andthe toilet was broken. I was warned about the thin walls, that you canhear every word, so was not shocked about that. The Hotel staff does not interact in English at all. It was so difficult. The room was clean though but did not have even the basic toiletries like soap and toilet paper. On asking the staff we were told that they do not provide these in the hotel. I don't know how can one stay without them. A bad experience overall.
