Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel has limited parking and a deal with the nearby car-park for overnight parking - open 24 hours. Nice bar downstairs, open late for residents. Breakfast included juice and boxed cereals, and an order from a limited menu. I had the mini breakfast which was a small-portions fry up, perfect really as the full Irish I always find to be too much food. Cannot remember if there was a vegetarian option. Overall very good value for money and right in the heart of Lime.
all reviews » The staff were amazingly helpful, they couldn't do enough for me and my family. They arranged a car space for my husband and literally stayed on the phone giving him directions to the hotel. One member of staff got into the car with me and personally took me to the car park underground. The staff couldn't do enough for us while we were there. I would definitely recommend this hotel. The breakfast was very good also. The breakfast was delicious and a great value. The staff were very friendly and helped us with parking, even though we showed up several hours before check-in time. The hotel is right beside one of the main bridges, so it's easy to locate and centrally located for reaching most of Limerick's interesting sites. Be sure to check out the Milkmarket if you're there for the weekend fair. The Pier is our favourite hotel when visiting Limerick, have stayed here several times. Located right in city centre: around the corner from shops and restaurants, 10 min walk to bus/train station and is very easy to find. Breakfast is great, rooms are quite small but are always clean. Left luggage room is secure to leave bags for a while. Overall excellent value for money. Location is great, overlooking the river and just 2 minutes from the city centre. I only stayed in a single room which had plenty of room and was comfortable. The shower was lovely, I had 2 just because! The bar area down stairs is perfect with plenty of drinks on offer. Breakfast was perfect, just what you need to start the day. The facilities were comfortable and underground parking was convenient. We had a bad puncture in the hotel garage and the staff including the hotel manager could not have been more helpful in changing the tyre and taking me to a garage to get a new tyre. We were in Limerick for a hen night and we found the pier hotel very good, the food and drinks in the bar are very good value, the room I stayed in had amazing views and was lovely and clean.breakfast the next morning was very good, and all throughout the stay the staff were very nice. We were met by friend staff at reception and friendly bar men and a very helpful male at receiption. We both liked our breakfast and how it was served up and fresh not like other hotels sitting too long before you get down for breakfast most of all the late check out was very good. The food was excellent and the waiting and bar staff very nice and courteous. It was a family gathering but only four of us stayed in the Hotel. The Manager on duty that night handled a bad situation that arose very well and we thank him for that. Cleanliness of Hotel and fresh decor, convenience of city location, attention to detail of staff, value for money, nice breakfast, relaxed atmosphere. I left a bag in room on leaving and received a phonecall re- same and bag sent in post next day. This hotel was fantastic and the staff are great. There was a young lady at the front desk who was so talkative and nice. The room was really nice, bed was perfect and a large shower. The breakfast was excellent and included with the room. The staff are so friendly and helpful a special thank you to mickey in the bar he is a great asset to this hotel desk managers were great too. traveled with my parents one who was in a wheelchair and they made our stay so comfortable. location, overlooking the shannon, walking distance to medieval quarter and shopping streets.. the breakfast. freshly cooked for individual tastes.. sick of dried up buffets. also, the late breakfast sitting, till 12 midday, sunday.. The room was great with a comfortable bed. Our deal came with breakfast which we were able to have between 7-12. Loved the flexibility and the late checkout and the location was close to everything. Nothing I didn't like. Our room faced Sarsfield Bridge, the main street, and late at night a bus sat and idled for a long time while passengers unloaded. We'd recommend requesting a room that faces into the center of the hotel, if you value quiet over the view. Can be noisy at night if there are groups of people returning late from nights out. Nothing. I have no complaint. Some of us had food and drinks in the bar before we headed elsewhere to meet other family members. On our return to the Hotel we were refused entry to the bar by the bouncer even though none of us had done anything wrong. However the Manager on duty handled the situation to everyone's satisfaction. No pool, a bit of street noise. This hotel was great, great location, no complaints. afternoon, the bar area v. noisy.. that is only a quibble, as a hen party was celebrating.. good food though.. The unexplained fire alarm at 5am that went off for a minute, possibly set off by accident, but needless to say it ruined our sleep & we found it difficult to settle down again after the shock of it. The bed was uncomfortable & the sheets could have been softer. Nothing. Limerick City has a bad reputation of which we were unaware, but our first hand experience we found it NOT TO BE TRUE AT ALL !. The weather was very cold when I was in Limerick and the hotel, particularly the bar, reflected this. Perhaps double-glazing would help. I won't fault anything. nothing. Noise from outside traffic. If you want an early night, don't stay here. We were 3rd floor up (top of hotel) & could hear the words of every song played in the bar downstairs by the dj until 12.30am. I think it only finished then due to Sunday licencing laws. Then fire alarm went off briefly at 11.50pm. Not a good nights sleep for any of us & had to be up early for swimming competition for our 11yr old. The room was quite small for the price we payed. Centre-stop in middle of carpark gate is too high. I have a low car and clobbered my underside on the way in. Some traffic noise from the street in the morning, but that's to be expected given central location. Nothing. The water was rather cold, and the pressure in the tube wasn't very strong either. Room was a bit small and tired. Had to order breakfast twice before getting it. No glasses for orange juice. asked for pot of tea and it was cold. Asked for another it was luke warm. Finally the third pot was hot! No milk on tables for tea!. Room was in need of an airing out, bit smelly or too much air freshener. A few hours with window open fixed the problem. Parking was full, but discount on pay parking was suitable. nothing. A bit noisy due to the location over looking the Shannon River but it was lovely. nothing. Being right on the main road, traffic noise was a problem initially. When requested, the staff moved me to another room with no fuss at all.
