A very warm and friendly atmosphere, great value for money. Booked a single but got a room with a double and single nice room with an offer of tea to my room anytime I wanted to call for it for no charge, also complimentary newspaper in the morning which was nice. Had a lovely breakfast served by very friendly waitress. Very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Hotel clean, warm and cosy with great food loved the breakfast and had a nice meal in the bar. Spacious rooms. Very handy for Shannon airport (20 mins away) and 10 mins from city centre. Great value for money would definitly recommend.
all reviews » What I liked most was the atmosphere about the hotel. The staff are all so helpful and friendly. The Bar had a great buzz about it and loads of character. My room was very nice and clean with tea and coffee facilities. Best of all the rates were such good value for such a nice hotel!. I liked the fact that the bar had a nice buzz about it even on a week day and there was a great heated smoking area out on the patio. I had a lovely meal in the bar and as a frequent business traveller would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. The hotel is informal and comfortable. I've stayed at the hotel manytimes in the past and have always liked it. I have recommend it toothers as a convienient location for shannon airport and a goodplace to stay.. The advertised Bistro [even with menus in room] in which we were planning to celebrate our Silver Wedding had been closed for 2 months. Toilets were poor. No facilities for making tea. loss of Hot water on Saturday night (fixed by morning). Some staff need to be more friendly. We booked 4 rooms with 1 room having dampness on the walls and the smell of dampness was in the room. On telling the reception, we were moved immediately so the problem was resolved. The bedroom was in need of some repair, updating and groomng up, in need of ceiling repairs and the lamps were dusty, the bathroom tiles looked rather dirty, but for the price Isuppose it was OK. a long wait at the bar sometimes. no public transport on door step, taxi needed. Private function room above our room too noisy on 2 nights of our 4 night stay! Partying till after midnight. The view from the window was non existant other than a dirty roof and chimney.no hot water in shower, double bed small and uncomfortable. there was a wedding and a rugby match so we had to eat in a very busy bar rather than the restaurant and they had no coffee making facitlites in our room. We were allowed one free cup of coffee instead.Dated decor. Grubby looking reception. Generally tired looking. Overpriced (but everything in Ireland is). Very ordinary brown food.The receptionist clearly did not want to be there. Something had appeared to upset her and she was less than gracious to us on our arrival. Door of the room did not appear very secure. Noisy room (air conditioning fan outside our window which was into a closed shaft). Decor very tired. No tea/coffee making facility!. Staff were impolite and also very noisy on Saturday night.This continued until 02:00 despite our complaints to the hotel staff.noisy from the bar below.
