The manager John and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was to much trouble for them to do. The hotel also has an excellent food menu, value for money including 2 for 1 on certain days and times. The breakfast in the morning was cooked to order and fresh, including vegetarians options. I found Egans to be the best possible combination of a 'chain' hotel and a private guest house. It was comfortable - especially the communal lounge area - clean, and nicely decorated, with very helpful staff. My room had everything I needed and was very good value for my 30 euros. We rented a room for 5 people. It was a full size bed, and 3 twin beds crammed together in a very small room. We only stayed one night here, so being crammed together one night was no big deal. We had our own bathroom plus there was a public bathroom right outside of our door. The lady at the desk was very helpful and informative. She told us of our various options of getting into the city, which is a good distance away.
