The manager John and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was to much trouble for them to do. The hotel also has an excellent food menu, value for money including 2 for 1 on certain days and times. The breakfast in the morning was cooked to order and fresh, including vegetarians options. There is a different range of entertainment every night, what more could you ask for, under one roof. For visitors first time to Dublin all sites are within walking distance, bus, Luas (Smit.
Really good location as easy walking distance to the main town
(O'Connell Street) & close to Temple Bar. We walked to
Jameson's Distillery & the Guinness Storehouse. Room was a good
size & serviced every day. Best described as a traditional Irish Pub
with accommodation above. This is an older building with some quirky
plumbing noises to go with it! O'Sheas is great for a drink & to
enjoy the live music every night. Meals were good; the Irish stew was
yum & the full Irish bre.
The food was very good and very reasonably priced. The rooms were clean. Nothing very big or fancy about our room (but not tiny either), it served their purpose and we didn't mind because of the fact it was so clean and the food was good and very reasonably priced. Very good location for The Phoenix Park.
Great location in downtown Dublin! Across the street from the Brazen Head, the oldest bar in Ireland! Only a ten minute walk from the Temple Bar district and a ten minute walk from the Guinness Brewery. Staff was extremely friendly and Mr. O'Shea is a great man who gets to know all his guests.
This was a traditional Pub, the nightlife in the bar was fantastic and
traditional, exactly what you would expect on a visit to ireland. Staff
were friendly, locals were friendly. Breakfast was fantastic. Very
highly recommended. Rooms are basic but comfortable and very clean.
Really nice place to stay, has all your basic needs and I thought was great value for money as the location was perfect for me and my partner…the staff were nice and friendly and recommend to anyone looking for a nice quiet stay and good bar downstairs for a drink :).
I chose O'Shea's for price, location close to City Centre but not right smack in the middle of Temple Bar, and the appealing looking pub scene pictured on the letsbookhotel.com site. I found everything as expected! This place is great and great value for money.
I have stayed at O'Sheas Merchant two or three times, I find the staff very friendly and helpful, the rooms are comfortable, the food is excellent, the music great. I recommended O.Sheas to my friends and they joined us there and would certainly go back again.
Full irisch breakfast, good food in pub. Very friendly. Irisch music and country-music in pub. Everything fine. Nearby Christchurch, Temple Bar not far - but food and music in O´Sheas Merchant better than in Temple Bar. Lot of irish people there ...
The staff very friendly, our rooms were comfy could hear music in room
but didnt bother us went and joined in good fun. Breakfast great, loads
of it, very close to shops, castle, guinness museum that was great
afternoon. We would go back again .
Fantastic value for money !!!!
Clean good size rooms. No views from rooms & not sure when was the last time bed linen was washed, but you can expect this for only €42. Really nice pub downstairs. Best value for money in Dublin.
I go out in Dublin 1 a month and always stay in o sheas.it is quiet central temple bar 5-10 min walk and loads of resturants bar around.the food is nice there too.i find the rooms very clean and at a great price for the area.
I loved location which was beside ChristChurch . I attended concert
there. Hotel was warm with comfortable beds. Carpet was grubby and
bed covers had old stains . Over all great location and excellent
value at €39 !.
The location of the hotel was excellent! Very close to all the main attractions and we didn't have to use a bus or taxi. The food in the resaturant was also really good and at relatively reasonable prices.
i really like the atmosphere in this hotel, friendly staff and good prices in the bar. also the location was perfect, just 5 min walk to temple bar area. close to many other point of interest.
We started our trip here and ended our trip here and we loved every minute of it. A special thanks to Michelle, one of the wait staff. She was amazing and we will miss her for sure.
Great location and a very good price. The bar is lively and friendly whilst not causing a problem noise wise in the room I was staying in. Breakfast is very good as part of the price.
The staff were friendly, room basic but clean and comfortable, food very good and bar lively with a choice of live entertainment. Location excellent for centre of dublin.
Food was amazing. Staff were amazing very hospitable. Atmosphere was
great. Location excellent. Didnt eat evening meal anywhere Else because
the food was soooo good.
The staff were excellent and friendly. We enjoyed the atmosphere, especially down stairs in the pub/dinning area. Great food. Great stay will go back for sure.

The staff were very helpful when my niece took ill. O'Shea's was ideally situated for shopping and sight-seeing in the city. A comfortable friendly hotel.

The room was so clean, and was comfortable. Bathroom inside room clean. Staff was so kind and willing to help.
Friendly staff, great traditional singing, music and dance every evening. Good Irish cooked breakfast.
I was given a second room since the first room did not have a safe box key. The workers were nice.
large bedroom very comfy bed good food music every night.
We loved the friendliness of the staff. The hotel was also within walking distance of the city.
It so easy to get to city for shopping from. Everywhere very convenient.

Very friendly atmosphere, brilliant location, will use again.
Great late bar with good live music and fantastic location.
Best staff and location ever. Big, clean and quiet rooms.
Staff are always friendly and it has a great atmosphere.
clean rooms, good food and atmosphere in pub downstairs.
Staff, Cleanliness, Location great value for money.
Brilliant location, lovely food and atmosphere.
Very friendly staff, no complaints about hotel.
Enjoyed the stay but be aware that the live music goes to 2am some
nights - if that's not your thing then look elsewhere as you
will hear it!.
Our room was on the road side and so could hear alot of road noise, but
this is not unexpected in a city. I am a country dweller and so would
have noticed it more. Still slept fine and not really put me off.
I have no complaints about O'Shea's Merchant.
Only one thing our cold tap seemed to have a mind of its own, would come
on when it felt like it which wasnt that offten.just keept large bottle
of water in room to brush teeth All the lights did not work in some
rooms no bulbs.
The noise from the pub makes the night sleep difficult! There was also a noise from the restaurant all day long.
Only small improvement would be you may have to wait around to get your key back as the bar to pick it up is not always manned.
Only the beds. Very hard and lumpy. Springs coming through. Really need
new mattresses.
Thought that the windows could have heavier curtains or blinds to filter out the light.
The stairs as we were on the top floor but that's a minor dislike.
Bedrooms really are tired looking and need some new bedding although are very clean it is very dated and patches of damp need attention.
inconsiderate people slamming doors early hours of the morning.
My first room did not have a safe box key so I couldn't use it. It was loud at night because there was music downstairs so it was hard to sleep.
Nothing.
nothing.
we didn't dislike anything.
Nothing.
nada.
Having to wait down stairs for over 3 and a half hours for the room to be cleaned . Doors banging most of the night with people parting.
No complaints.
The staff on Sunday morning breakfast were poor bread with breakfast no toast quality of breakfast not in same class as Friday/Saturday morning when the staff were excellent the Sunday staff need to take a long hard look at themselves.
I liked everything, but just a warning: no elevator or champoo in the bathroom.
Beds are a bit hard and could do with another pillow.
no view except for rear of next door.
view from the room onto a flat roof not very nice.
