Overlooking Fitzgerald Park, The Redclyffe Guesthouse is opposite University College Cork. Cork city centre is a 10-minute walk and Redclyffe offers free Wi-Fi, free parking and traditional breakfasts.
Large bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and hair dryers. They also include satellite TVs, telephones and tea/coffee making facilities, some rooms have views over the park.
Outside of the hotel there is a bus stop which has a regular service to the city centre. Friendly staff can also provide travel arrangements and recommend restaurants and sightseeing attractions.
Shannon Steeple, The English Market and St. Finbarrs cathedral are all less than one mile from Redclyffe. Douglas Golf Club and Cork Airport are both just a 5-minute drive from the guesthouse.
We had a clean, spacious and comfortable room with a great shower. Breakfast is good, hot food, coffee and juice. The location is not too far from town - it takes about 20 minutes to walk or you can jump on the bus that stops out the front and runs up the main street of Cork. A taxi from the bus station/city will cost less than 10 euro. The owner is friendly and helpful. This is a good choice considering how expensive some of the places right in town are. We really liked Cork and definitely got. all reviews
Almost everything! The location is perfect, the owners are decent, lovely, kind and very helpful. Couldn't ask for a better host. The value for our money in the room we got was excellent. The breakfast is everything we wanted plus it's served with a smile from the owners. How can you not have an enjoyable stay in such a place not too mention they got free WiFi. I will recommend the place to our friends anytime. Will go back there if we get a chance.
The owner was incredibly nice! We accidentally booked the wrong night, so when we showed up not only did he not charge us for the night we had missed, he also let the three of us stay in a smaller room (the only one not booked) for a very decent price. The room was very clean, and had a nice homey feel to it. The included breakfast was very good, and there were a good amount of breakfast options.
Somewhat removed from the city center but within walking distance of good food. Needing a triple consigns you to the furnished top floor of an attic loft. The room was spacious, clean, and had plenty of hot water. Safe parking is in the building’s own front lot. The manager is friendly with witty humor if engaged. If one is driving and wants quiet accommodations, this is a good place.
The best thing about this place is the owners. I have stayed here three times and they are always so easy going and friendly. The second thing is the breakfast, really good quality sausages and eggs. We had a very large and comfortable room which was clean, bright and well equipped. Every time I come to Cork I will stay here.
Wi-fi signal was great. Comfortable room. Quite a few stairs, but if you're not lazy it's fine. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly.
There is a bus right outside that takes you into city center, but if you want to walk its about 15 minutes. Overall liked everything and I thought it was a great price for my stay.

The hosts were absolutely lovely! As a solo traveller it was nice being around there. The room was a decent size and bed comfortable. I got in at 11am in the morning well before checkin time and they were lovely and even let me get my room early.
Extremely friendly host (John I think was his name). No nonsense feel to the place. Personally it was just what I was looking for as a solo traveller in Cork for one night, good location and a good price. Everything you need in the room.
the welcome from the staff was very nice, the room was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom, the breakfast was delicious on both days, on-site parking was not a problem, the location was very practical for getting around the city.

Staff was really nice, helpfull and lovely. Was my first time in guesthouse, I usually stay in hotels. I expect a nightmare, but was nothing like that. Was really nice comfy two nights. And the rooms really warm.

We really liked our host Mic. He was very helpful in telling us about the locale, restaurants, etc. His suggestions for restaurants were spot on. He has a great sense of humor!.

It could have been a little bit cheaper for the location, and our room had no heating - though to be fair the owner did give us a little blowy heater but it didn't work very well.
I wouldn't say I didn't like it but it's 56 steps on the stairs from the entrance to our room on the top most floor. It's a good exercise though. Just wish my knees were in better condition.
The multiple flights' walk-up was difficult with suicases, but such is reality when budget-traveling with 3 people to B & Bs and Guesthouses..

noise from road for me this did not affect my husband but I am A light sleeper I would still book again but ask for A room round the back.
It's not that expensive but it could be less.
The sink in the bathroom was a bit blocked. Not really a problem.
Not enough hangers in the closet, poor water pressure in the shower and the water wasn't very hot, lights burned out in bathroom and bedside, breakfast was just ok and coffee was terrible.
Couldn't fault this B&B for the value.
