The staff were incredibly welcoming, and showed us to our room which was spacious and beautifully decorated. Little touches like the Ipod speakers, the old fashioned bath, view over the courtyard and very comfortable and huge beds made this one of our favorite Irish hotels. Would also fully recommend using the spa facilities and the outdoor hot tub. At night, the hotel will let you stay up that bit later for late drinks in a lovely drawing room. A wonderful luxury, 5 star hotel that was just great overall. The best place we stayed during our 2 weeks in Ireland. Large, comfortable rooms & bed, great food, attentive staff, with Bart at the front door everything just couldn't be better. Welcome, politeness, sense of comfort and luxury, quiet and yet sense of purpose about staff, good meal, very well appointed room, over appointed for a single person staying one night but conveys the standard to which Hayfield operates. We loved the friendly staff. Everyone made us feel welcome at every turn and we had an amazing time using the spa amenities and pool area. We would recommend anyone to stay there and hope to stay there again ourselves. Set in lovely grounds this attractive hotel has been sympathetically restored. The rooms are large, comfortable and luxurious. The food is excellent. The staff are the perfect blend of professionalism & friendliness. I had stayed at Hayfield Manor 5 years ago and so much has improved. The pool was Magnificent - the spa fantastic. The bedding superb - the staff outstanding. the sense of history and character well communicated. Staff was super fantastic! Grounds absolutely beautiful! Close to city center but quiet and detached. We were offered a complimentary newspaper and were then charged for it. The charge was lifted when I complained but it was a small irritation on checking out. no negative comments applicable. The food was a little disappointing. My wife is a chef so are expectations may have been a little higher than most. The food seemed under-seasoned. Absolutely nothing. poor lighting. lacked 5 star treatment - room cold on arrival - no robes / slippers / (little things but would expect in 5 star) no parking available in grounds (due to conference). Nothing. The evening meal was disappointing and a main course was returned . The wines were all relatively expensive with little choice under €30+. The room had torn curtains , not something you expect in a five star hotel . Location. Spa, horrible.

By Car:
- From Cork Airport, upon leaving the hotel grounds, there is a roundabout in front of you.
- Take the 1st exit towards the City Centre, keeping to the left.
- As you descend towards the city, you will see a major roundabout ahead called the Kinsale Road Roundabout.
- At this roundabout, take the 1st exit towards the N25 West, following signs for West Cork/Killarney.
- You will then approach another roundabout called the Sarsfield Road Roundabout.
- At this roundabout, take the 3rd exit and follow the signs for Killarney N22.
- You will see the Wilton Shopping Centre on your left.
- At the Wilton roundabout, take the 2nd exit, following signs for Killarney.
- You will now enter a residential area, pass by a Credit Union and come to traffic lights at Dennehy's Cross. You will also see Dennehy's Pub and Garage.
- At Dennehy's Cross, take a right turn and there will be a signpost for Hayfield Manor.
- You will now come across a mini roundabout by Jim Murphy Carpet Shop. Take a left at this roundabout onto College Road.
- You will pass by the Bon Secours Hospital, the university buildings and 2 sets of traffic lights.
- Hayfield Manor is located alongside the University Car Park on the right-hand side up Perrott Avenue.
