I had a great time at Gili Divers, so great that I extended my stay for another night. The staff ia amazing, very down to earth and super friendly. I was on a holiday with a friend, and we really got to know some of the staff members, and these people are really down for some chill sessions after work. I was fortunate enough to be instructed by Gerge, a dive master from the hotel. He really knows his diving, explaining very clear how to enjoy a dive in a fun and save way. Ozzy, also a dive mast.
all reviews » Their dive courses were good, my room was always clean, they had a decent pool, and were really close to the beach. It's not your typical beach hotel, they focus mostly on diving, and that is noticeable. For me, that was great. There were always people around, diving courses happening, and someone to have a drink with. The dive instructors were friendly, even with those not diving. Great atmosphere. The beachfront location was perfect, with friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Hope you like cats, as there are a few resident felines. The diving facilities were also excellent with local knowledge meaning the best dive sites selected for the conditions. Will be returning. Location , right on the beach. Neil and Jenny run a great place with wonderful staff. Diving looked very professional, We are not divers but loved the place, seeing turtles just off the beach. Booked for 2 nights, stayed a week! We will be back ........ Rooms were comfortable and clean, spaces utilised well. Shower was excellent and uniquely designed bathroom. Diving opportunities were great. Owner, local staff and our diving instructor (Bonny) were very welcoming and helpful. Loved this place, it has what it needs to have. Very good relationship quality-money. You can go diving and get a better price for the whole stay and diving courses. The location is perfect, just in front of the beach. The staff know your name by the second day, very friendly and helpful. very hostel style hang out in the front so you get to meet new people easily. The location is so great. It's near the harbour, night market, and a lot of interesting restaurants. The beach is only 10 m away from the hotel. Highly recommended for young traveller. The hotel was good value for $$. Food was fresh & also good value compared to other restaurants in close proximity. Would stay again. Stay here if you dive here for convenience or you could find a lot of better and cheaper hotels nearby. The cleaning services were good, I also thought it was great that I was able to borrow DVDs. There were some issues with the wifi, and my room was right next to the kitchen, so it was loud in the mornings sometimes. Leaving..... A little bit cliquey amongst some diving instructors and more advanced divers. No wifi signal in the rooms. none. The TV didn't work and the air conditioner keep turned off every once in a while during the afternoon. A bit about the people in the island that makes us uncomfortable as it seems uncommon for them to see a group of girls going together. They may not intended to do any harm to us, but their comments and cheering when we walked past makes us a bit afraid. The Wi-fi could be better :). bad air-condition, weak wi-fi. Wifi connection was not very weak and TV was not working BUT I could not give them a chance to fix it, because reception vacant at 10pm. I am sure they would have fixed it if I had raised these issues earlier. - rooms are really tiny - for short stay that's OK, but for longer - lack of wardrobe is a problem - strong smell of dampness - breakfasts rather poor, slooowly stuff - realy loud sounds from the mosque... better take earplugs :-). The TV don't have any channel. Bad wifi signal. Surprised that the locals aren't as friendly as the locals in Bali. Especially in this hotel - the only staff that said 'hello' was the cleaning staff waiting to clean your room. Nothing special if you not diving here and expensive with no hot water. Staff was not very helpful or friendly, as I didn't do any diving they paid no interest in saying hello or anything. Breakfast was not good, ate there once and then went elsewhere. For a solo traveller that doe not intend to take a divers certificate with gili divers then I'd recommend you stay in one of the many bungalows on the island instead.. I can't smoking in my room I wish your crew could be more nice. Hotel Manager was one of the most unhelpful and arrogant person I met, most often hangovered. The poor of service, facilities was not appropriate with the hotel rate I will not advice my family stay in this hotel The add is not appropriate, is not as good as the actual. But is not! We found 2 Cockroach in the bed, and i must kill them and clean the room, because they didn't do. The air conditioning, didn't work well. Is expensive, and you can find cheaper close to it.
