We've just returned from holidays in Greece and would like to leave our feedback concerning our stay in Stanley hotel, where we`ve spent 6 awesome nights! It took us lots of time to choose the hotel in Athens, but now we can say that our choice was so right! Stanley gets from us 10 points out of 10 possible J)) and the reasons are the following: 1) the location is perfect: right after the corner there is a metro station that leads you to any point of Athens: easy, fast and cheap. all reviews » Upon booking, I had requested a non-smoking room on a higher floor. When we checked in, we were given a room on a second floor that was a smoking room where everything was scented with nicotine. However the hotel were happy to accommodate us with this change when we checked in. The doors are double to the balcony which is good for the busy street. The non-smoking rooms are clean; however keep your bathroom door shut as the smell of nicotine can come up through the vents of other rooms. The brea. The staff were just amazing. We were going onto Kefalonia after our week in Athens and they investigated availability with KTEL, pre-booked our coach/ferry tickets for the journey and then sent a member of staff out to purchase them when we had arrived. They provided us with loads of great information about Athens including what to see, where to eat and how to do it. The roof top, with stunning views of the acropolis (especially at night) was a wonderful facility; featuring lovely drinks and . This is an excellent hotel! The roof terrace is fantastic: it has a large bar and restaurant area, clean pool and nice sunbathing area, all with Acropolis views. The food up there is ok but only average compared to all the other places we've been. The rooms were large, the beds were comfortable and it was really good to have a balcony. The aircon is efficient and quiet (and you might need it as there is traffic noise if you have the balcony door open). The staff were all very helpful and friend. The Stanley was such a bargain! And given the excellent rate, were surprised to find such excellent services. The rooftop bar and restaurant provide a breathtaking view of the Acropolis and other ruins, many lit at night. The food at the restaurant was wonderful, with staff attentive and fun. The price for a lovely dinner under the stars was excellent as well. We stayed in the Triple Room and it was perfect for our family of three adults. We had an AMAZING view of the acropolis from our super large wrap around balcony. The hotel is above the Metro which was perfect. We came up the steps with our heavy luggage and we were happy to see the hotel right beside the steps. The AC worked great keeping the room cool. They gave us two keys so that we could keep one in the room to keep the AC on. They did an fantastic job of cleaning our room every day. The hotel was very good, the room was neat and clean with a taste of luxury, it was a quiet space and the internet was satisfy. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. I enjoyed the view of the Acropolis, which I think is the biggest advantage of "Hotel Stanley". I loved the fact that the Subway Station was just off the hotel. Also, I enjoyed immensely the little beer house which was opposite the hotel and had a variety of all Greek beers. We will definitely visit again. It is really beyond my expectation. Before we check in the hotel, I found that someone met the wifi, room, and noise problem, but all there are clean from me. What can I say? We are lucky? I dont know. Breakfast room food layout was a bit chaotic when very busy, could have grouped drinks/ fruits & yoghurt/cooked eggs and bacon better. A bit old fashioned, but not a problem. No in-room tea/coffee making facilities. A bit noisy, though the double glass keeps most of it out, so only really noisy near the elevators as people tend to congregate there at all hours. The only downside was the a/c was not very powerful, but you could still sleep. Can't say there was snything. We were on the 7th floor overlooking a roundabout and could hear the traffic noise. It didn't disturb us at all, but light sleepers might want to request a room on the other side. At night it is not so nice around there, and there are not so many other resturant. nothing. Can hear people in next room when in the bathroom , but not in main bedroom area. Okay if you shut door to bathroom. Breakfast (which is included) could be better (less quantity but better quality). Incredibly noisy from the traffic (even though I was on 8th floor). There was nothing that I didn't like about this hotel, rooms were spacious and clean. Internet is free, but you can connect one user at a time. the hotel wi fi doesn't work in some of the mobile handsets. The WIFI signal is too weak. I had to try for 20 minutes before I can get in. When connected, the internet is slow. This is the only thing that I dislike, the rest of the hotel was great. A bit dated interior but ok. It was quite noisy, but we were tired and we slept ok. -room was a bit noisy and hot!!. Wifi was not that good especially in the rooms, the hotel was a bit out dated and the bathroom was very small...but otherwise we were comfortable and the 5* service made it worth the stay. the WC was small and will fit only one person. the wifi was extremely slow. (albeit free). Waiting on the elevator door due to the much of people :(. Not many food places. No tourist souvenir places. If you take bus to Athens then when you get there catch a taxi to hotel otherwise you will need to catch another bus then metro can be quite complicated. The wifi dosen't work very well in the rooms. Area around the hotel is terrible - dirty streets, slum like houses (but most of touristic Athens is like this). Very noisy. View from roof to Acropolis is partly covered by nearest hotel. Wifi service is the worst I ever have in any hotels I've stayed in the world! Its basically useless!. elevators must be renewed only. room on 8th floor was beautiful and roomy and lots of room in shower and bathroom was great.I would purchase a more expensive room next time.
