The concierge spoke English well and was patient with me although the letsbookhotel.com website misrepresented the description for a "sun terrace", which is just a standard balcony and not a outdoor area with sun and views of the city. The owner was very friendly and helped me resolve my concerns and even directed me to a neighbouring 4 star hotel called Hotel Stanley that had a pool and sun deck for pubic use so I stayed in their cheaper room and simply crossed the road to enjoy a swim and sun.

I was impressed by how efficiently the room was made up by the house-keeper, in a matter of 2-3 minutes. This is probably one of the best locations for at this price range, however, the pictures (on letsbookhotel.com) showing the Akropolis from the hotel is bit of a stretch! At least I could not see that monument fr. The hotel is conveniently close to the metro which brings you within 10 minutes to the Acropoli station, which is right in the middle of the touristic part if the city. I only spent my last night in Greece there but thinking back, I think I'd rather stay there than being right at the center of the touristic area (Monistikari, where I previously stayed). The neighborhood seemed quieter, cleaner and there were less tourists. The room I got was pretty and clean and I had a nice view. The breakfast. I was very pleased with the stay at Hotel Katerina. Everything was great. When my friend and I entered the hotel, the staff welcomed us with free cokes and gave us maps and introduced us about Athens. The room itself is clean, comfortable. Easy to reach, just across from metro and bus link to bus station A forPeloponnese and Ionianislands. We were en route from Piraeus to Kefallonia. Also handily placed for hop on hop off city tour bus which we made use of during our day in Athens. Surprisingly for hotel of this class they provided slippers and wee odds and ends (toothbrush set, cotton wool pads, shoe cleaner). Very good hotel. Great friendly staff. Room was big enough, clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable and clean. They changed linen and towels every day. Location is good - two stops by public transport from the very historic center of Athens. I've stayed in the single room for three nights. That was very comfortable and clean as well. Small room with a big bed, a lot of mirrors, good shower cabin. Excellent for travellers - it takes approx. 10min to go to the city center by metro. Friendly staff: they gave us umbrellas when it was raining, and didn't demand any compensation when I have lost mine. Wi-Fi is free, and password is given on arrival, without any request. It is not very fast, though. Breakfast is quite good. This is a really nice hotel, free secure parking, free wifi, air-conditioned, room gets cleaned and linen gets changed everyday. For light sleepers the room is not ideal as the sound isolation is almost non-existent. The street is not horribly noisy, but every now and then a loud sound would wake us up in the night. Perhaps more variety on breakfast menu :). breakfast could be better quality. Breakfast is not so good. Bad tea and coffe. Wifi slow at times. Everything was ok. Nothing. Air conditioning in the room doesn't seem to work right, but it wasn't really a problem due to cool weather. Might be a little bit noisy from a busy street with open windows. Rooms are - like most cities - a bit small for longer stays. Rooms on the smaller side. No kitchen / dining option. The extra bad was a sofa and it wasn't so comfortable but I slept good . - Rooms are a bit old and not very soundproof (like in so many hotels) - hotel is near a noisy roundabout - the area is a bit shabby. Nothing. They couldn't exchange Dollars to Euros. It appears though not there fault as only certain banks can and only with presentation of a passport. Smell in the breakfast area. There is shelf under the bed in the room that might injure you. A bit noisy, since the street below is busy. The arrangment in the bathroom (a small bathtub with a narrow sliding door to separate it) could be inconvenient for large or old people - I don't know if it's the same in every room though. Only the suite room can see the Acropoleis, it is a pity. a bit claustrophobic small lift:). The building, though clean and well maintained, is showing its age in things like bathrooms and elevators. Internet was not that good when you first time connected to it. But it became better later on. Surroundings are not among the most beautiful in Athens. no bad opinion. The internet didn't worked properly and when it worked it was very slow. The noise from the Main Street was very Anoying . So it better to ask an high floor. Internet was week but it still was enough to check emails. Quite noisy area due to traffic.
