We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and both were excellent and reasonably priced. We enjoyed sitting out on the decks overlooking Lac Sable and later swimming there.(Beach access included in the price of the room) -
Everything was really good! The food was excellent, the facility was not crowded.

We got one of the 5th floor rooms, which meant it was really quiet. It also meant 5 flights of narrow stairs. Of course, since it's a historical building (like much of Quebec City) building codes prevent the addition of elevators, so this is par for the course. Beautifully reno'd room and bathroom, though the ceiling was a bit low due to the angle of the roof. Close to lots of nearby shopping and restaurants in the old city (and the lower old city, too, which was a bit cheaper).

Matane is simply awful, but the Riotel is an oasis in a desert of ugliness. You can have dinner and breakfast at the hotel and never have to go out

I was travelling with friends (we had 3 rooms) to see the Moncton Wildcats play Shawinigan. We ate at the restuarant 3 times. Even though we spoke no french, we had a great laugh with the staff and they were extremely friendly and just did a great job. -

The first thing that I noticed was that the staff was very friendly to everyone. The rooms seemed very clean. The verandas looking over to the pool was fantastic. We had the double bed room, which included a bar fridge and coffee maker. It was fairly small since it was just the one bed, but still enough for the both of us - especially considering it was only 50$ per night. The breakfast was good, a typical continental breakfast. The pool/hot tub/sauna were very clean and enjoyable. -
