We were thrilled with our stay at Motel One. To begin with-- the location is amazing, literally next door to the Wien Westbahnof station (which was perfect for us because train was our method of transportation). We arrived at the hotel at 7:50 in the morning after spending the night on a train. all reviews » The location is perfect. There are a tube station and a train station beside the hotel and a tram station in front of the hotel. We have got a nice room; it was spacious, comfortable and clean. But we don´t know whether all rooms are this size or even better. All seems to be very new at the hotel. The lobby bar environment invites you to have a drink or a coffe every night before going to bed. The internet conection in the room was ok. The breakfast is worthy of the 7.00 euro. The staff is alwa. This is my fourth stay in Motel One Wien and they have been consistently reliable. The location is perfect because it's right next to Wien Westbahnhof and the u3 and u6 so it's very easy to go to the city center or practically anywhere you want to go in the city. I also noticed this time that their soundproofing is top-notch. I asked for a room with a view of the city and the busy Europaplatz was right outside but we never heard noises throughout the night. Also, some time since our last visit,. Location is great! Streetcar and underground stations are in front of the hotel and you can get anywhere in really short time. Mariahilfestrasse with plenty bars, restaurants and shops is 5 minutes walk from hotel. Schonnbrun castle is approximately 15 minutes ride by streetcar. We took an airport bus, to Westbanhof, bought a return ticket. Then next day we just board a train to Salzburg. Food is no problem at the station. It's like a big foodcourt. Air condition is broken and no one come to check after we complain during the whole three days. The description "walk-in wardrobe' was a bit of a stretch but also a little amusing. Nothing particular. No alarm clock. It was in the TV, but it only worked part of the time. It was possible to check-in only after 15:00. The rooms were a little too efficient. A wash cloth and bar soap for the shower would be nice. Each morning a stranger tried to enter our room, which was quite creepy. Since the door of shower room doesn't close entirely, the floor gets soaked. For late arrival, when you have to eat something the internal bar offers only toast and few snacks. A wide range should be ideal. No telephone in the room. No warm breakfast available. Though most reception staff were very helpful and friendly, one particular lady was ostentiably uncooperative. The Wi-Fi connection is a little iffy. Whilst it usually works, it is not reliable. My mother was not able to use it at all. My iPad kept needing to log back into the system and the log in screen would often get stuck for a long time, even though the login had been successful (i.e. it wouldn't load the "you are now logged in" page). The Wi-Fi service urgently needs sorting as it is not up to standard. Otherwise the hotel was excellent (the lack of soap in the bathroom is strange though). There was no hot food at breakfast, only fruit, cold meat, etc. for my purposes the hotel is simply perfect. I didn't like the free wifi from the hotel because it was very very difficult to hook with. It took several hours in the early night to catch the signal. I could use the wifi around 1-2 am. What's not to like ? You get what you pay for .Maybe a kettle etc in room. Internet service, when Hotel is full it was nearly impossible to have a connection to the wireless. Breakfast with extra price. (should be included). Room a bit small. No wardrobe, only few hangers. Wifi sometimes did not work very well. Very scarcely equipped rooms. No glasses, no bottle openers, no soap (only shampoo in small bottles available), no bath caps, no refrigerators... - similar to other Motel One hotels. breakfast was ordinary. -nothing to dislike, a great place to stay. These are minor things: 1. No soap to wash hands in the bathroom 2. could have used another outlet to charge devices. Nothing, perfect for my trip. Nothing. No safe, no coffee maker, no hand tissues. Everything else is just perfect. I'd have liked tea & coffee facilities in the room, but apart from that, can't complain!. The lines of people when checking in. They need more people working the front desk to accomodate people arriving. 1. a little expensive for a motel. 2. room was too small 3. poor sound proof from the hallway.
