I cannot stress enough how much I appreciated this room. The location is ideal and I stayed 12 nights!! The entrance/exit to U-bahn was a few feet around the corner. Didn't even have to cross street! Room was very clean and I always felt safe with location. Staff was super! I was in "budget" single room and there was ample room for 1 person. Don't let the square footage scare you. I don't know what I would've done with more room. It is a bare-bones room but there is a min-bar (I just put my yog.
all reviews » Suffice it to say, we will be coming here from now on, every time we're in Vienna. The staff was really supportive, really nice people, we were given a quiet room, seeing that we were traveling with a baby, the room was (I guess) bigger than the one we had opted for and it was clean all the time. The hotel is located right across the street from Westbahnhof, so if you want a train station nearby...there you have it. And, not more thank 20 steps away from the hotel entrance, there's a metro stat. Staff was friendly and helpful except for one, who was a bit "hoch/naessig" (arrogant). I would prefer not to give her first name. I was not with a "group," but rather met one friend frolm N. Oreland ther for three nights after my having taught at the law school in Linz this past semester. Location is perfect! And the hotel has retained so much of what is true Viennese charm--E.G., The stained glass windows and the elevator. To add to response to question 6, Vienna has long been my favorite cit. I stayed only for one night and didn't have breakfast, so I can't evaluate the hotel from a perspective of a longer stay. The bed was a bit too soft for me. Need to lift luggage for few steps from the entrance to the hotel check-in counter. No hot water for drinking in the room. Nothing!!. Hotel is a bit old, room door frame were a bit worn out. No a/c but didn't need it when I was there. Bed felt uneven as I keep feeling like I was about to slide of the bed. Evening desk attendant wasn't very friendly upon check-in. Bed was hard. Front desk man was unhelpful, unfriendly and upon checkout claimed our credit card didn't work when actually their machine was malfunctioning. Basically gave no apologies when he inconvenienced us by having to try another credit card. Nothing!. None. Older carpet. How the shower rose faces the side of the bath. Have struck this in all our hotels in Austria and Prague. Why not install them at the end of the bath to give the user more room?. Room needs an interior renovation. Hotel a bit dated - wi-fi slow but works fine..Ancient elevator was hard to use but did work. Rooms were too warm and with window open rather noisy. Nothing. That it was booked out and I couldn't stay there two nights. Everything good. There was no hot water in the shower till about 8:00 a.m. It's quite noisy when accessing the room door as it's a bit old facilities. But it's not a really big concern actually. The walls are a bit thin. No, everything is perfect!. Leaving at the end of my stay !. I didn't find anything unpleasant at the hotel.
