Friendly staff, intimate lounge area(away from reception desk) good size rooms with plenty of chairs/settee, wardrobe space. Beautifully clean in bathrooms, room and everywhere in Hotel. Free use of internet was appreciated as it was our grandaughters birthday whilst we were away. We were a party of six who were all happy with the hotel which was gratifying to us as we had booked the hotel.

We could not recommend this hotel highly enough and we would definitely return. One point to note. On booking we were unable to get Standard room and booked the Classic which was only very slightly more expensive but was well worth it as the rooms were at lot bigger.Everything: reception was very helpfull and nice, they answerd all our questions and did their best to make our stay pleasant. The location is perfect (10 minutes walk from Stefansdom). Breakfast was exellent, rooms are very nice, clean and home-alike. Free Internet was also a nice bonus. And we really liked the sweet surprise which they've put in our room for X-mas! :). Austria Hotel stands for comfortable and convenient. Near to U1, U3,U4, so it is very easy to go to any place in Vienna, especially to airport and train station. We can also do our Shopping nearby. The breakfast is very good. It would have been appreciated if snacks had been available during the day. More importantly, we were rather let down that pre-booked seats at a Strauss concert did not materialise. Reception did not advise that the concert had been cancelled until we asked for the tickets.The room was stuffy when it got hot outside. I thought there would be air conditioning and there wasn't any. parking is too hard to find and to go in on Sunday. Very difficult to reach if you are driving a car. very old fashioned decor. To our arrival linien not very clean. No air conditioning. A bit oldfashioned furniture.The smell into the smoking room was quite strong. They should do something with this smell.

Travelling information

From the Western Train Station:
Take the underground line U3 in the direction of Simmering and exit at Stephansplatz. Follow Rotenturmstrasse right into Fleischmarkt. Take the second small street right into Wolfengasse.

From the Southern Train Station:
Take the underground line U1 from Südtirolerplatz in the direction of Kagran and exit at Schwedenplatz. Take the Schwedenplatz exit and follow Laurenzerberg, then turn right into Fleischmarkt. Take the first left into Wolfengasse.

From the airport:
Take the public bus (every 30 minutes) to Morzinplatz. From there it is a 5-minute walk (via Franz-Josefs-Kai, Rotenturmstrasse and Fleischmarkt) to Hotel Austria.
