The service was great,we travelled some 300km to arrive at our destination and we were happy to have secure parking.The view from our room was great,a very pleasent stay.The Staff at the Menzies were very Friendly and extremely helpful in any query we had. Location is great and price was good too for xmas.

The room decor was dated, and this applied to the 12th floor corridor as well.Breakfast was not included. When asked about it, price was exorbitant. Hotel authority should give deals which include breakfast. Room is a bit noisy at night because of the trains(station is right opposite). The beds are not very comfortable(springs are a bit worn out).My only criticism of the Menzies is that I stayed there some 20 years ago and the rooms really need updating. They look tired and worn especially the bathroom. The overall experience was good.Bathroom was a little basic. Would be good if juices/water in mini bar could be checked and topped up each day during the stay.The air conditioning in the room was faulty and after reporting it twice we just gave up and refuse to stay their ever again. Try sleeping in a 5 start hotel with little to no air conditioning and see if you go back.The fan they brough up to accomodate was a heater some 25cm high x 25 cm, what a joke.Sorry but you won't be back.air conditioning quite noisy, decor a little out of date. parking arrangements could be made clear at time of booking - including a map of how to get in and out. Did not like the food that we ordered from room service. The fact that our room did nor have an opening window. The airconditioning was rather noisy. The bathroom looked a little tired.Buffet breakfast was just fair. Rooms are old and dated, and we had insects in the room (like little bugs) and bathroom.bathroom is outdated, old style.No housekeeping on Sundays, old TV, over soft bed, awful music in public areas, left laundry from previous guest, dusty corridors, grease round side of pool, long wait for porters.Staff and particularly management were unpleasant and arrogant. Had a long discussion as we discovered that they charged, upon arrival and without asking our authorization, our credit card with $ 100 for presumed hotel charges. Insisted this is invariably done in all hotels in the world. This after we had totally prepaid our stay in cash. We chose to pay cash as the hotel charges 1.
