Very good value, and convenient to all things, beach, board walk, shops and restaurants. Wouldn't hesitate to return, a little concerned with a "senior" guest as we weren't sure how she would cope with stairs as there is no lift. The place was great, plenty of room for us and so close to everything. I didn't use my car once after check in. We walked everywhere. I will go back again and hopefully will get unit 19 again. Great unit. Manager was fabulous.
all reviews » Excellent location - between the beach and city centre, walking distance to both (within 200m). And the Sandbar Cafe across the road is amazing and offers takeaway as well. Really great value for money and wonderful setup. The 2 bedroom apartment was good, certainly big enough,comfortable and well equipped. Beach, restaurants and great shops were right on your door step. We would certainly come back and hope we got apartment 7 again. Convienience to shops, beach and cafes. Privacy and views from apartment. Garden and swimming pool. Friendly staff. I would have no hesitation recommending Tranquil Shores and hope to return one day. Our unit was very comfortable and family oriented. After spending all day on a sporting field the air conditioning was great, as was the washing machine to was all the gear. Lovely friendly service. Very clean, large appartment and a really nice surprise for how inexpensive. Hosts were lovely, great view of beach from our room. The 2 bathrooms were a lovely surprise!. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was perfect..so close to main street yet so quiet. unit was comfortable and lacked nothing . Very clean pool & heated. Unit clean & tidy, air-conditioned. good location between beach & city centre, easy walk to places. It is in the heart of Caloundra and they were able to oblige when we asked about the possibility of a good water view. Thanks for that. After walking everywhere, I was a bit over walking up and down stairs. That just means I need to get a bit fitter. Only airconditioning was in main bedroom. Only draw back was the bedroom drapes didn't darken the room enough. Not having a lift may be a problem for older people. Quality of bed linen and spread. More detergents for dishes and a change of towels after two days. As overseas visitors it is not economical to have to buy that sort of material for a short term stay. Didn't like the fact we had to leave...LOL. hot water system doesn't supply for very many showers. To get that view involved a hike up stairs because the older, but well-maintained, building is a three-storey walk-up design with no lift. However, we knew that and accepted this downside before booking. The weather was the only thing that let down my stay. The room we had did not have enough view of the ocean. Being a 2 bedroom unit, the bathroom was inconveniently placed within one of the bedrooms - i.e couldn't close bedroom door as kids needed access to bathroom. Nothing :). The unit appeared very clean however we had a 10 month old crawling everywhere. He immediately became black on his knees, feet and hands five minutes after crawling anywhere on the tiles each time. This would be my only dislike. Only 2 rolls of toilet paper for 4 people then pay for any extra No towels for pool Bed pillows all bit large and hard. nothing. Three story walk up, would have liked to stay longer. The unit could have been cleaned more thorough, there was sand on the couch and floors but it was an old unit. No sea views Bathroom a bit too small. 2 things......... 1. when we arrived, someone had left used 'Vagisil' in one of the bedroom sidetables which was missed during cleaning. 2. we were in 13, which was great, but the unit above had no carpet so the noise from banging and scraping of furniture was a problem. The pool remained locked one morning till quite late. Lack of elevator but I understand why. Nothing. No stairs and the floors were greasy.
