Booked off peak season a budget room and upon arrival found that I had been upgraded free of charge to a plush self catering apartment. Very comfortable, very pleasant staff etc and ended up extending my stay from one week to just short of three! Very impressed by the professionalism of the staff and yet the friendly manner that made the place feel like home! all reviews » These apartments are spotlessly clean. Just at the end of a long main street, great for browsing and two minute walk to esplanade with restaurants cafes etc. Pool is adequate size and the barbecue area at the top would be great for larger groups. Our room had lovely decor, very spacious bathroom with lots of room to put things. There were two arm chairs near the window plus a good size balcony with table and four chairs so you could sit in or out and still have the view over estuary. My partner and I love the whole experience withing your resort. The unit was beautiful and clean the bed was amazing and soft. The comfort of having a nice heating system throughout the whole unit was great as it was cold. We ordered Chinese which was delivered to the apartment which was great as we were unfamiliar with the changes of caloundra. Your staff were friendly and very easy to deal with. We also liked that we could check in late without any dramas. We stayed 2 nites in a studio apartment that was very spacious and the kitchen was more than adequate with full size fridge. Nice to have a balcony to sit on for breakfast with a glimpse of the sea. Rooftop was excellent with wonderful views - we had our evening meals up there - bbq one nite using facilities and takeaway the second nite. Parked the car and didn't use it again till we departed. Very handy location to everything. Loved the whole apartment and the bed was very comfy. Having a back injury its hard to get comfortable beds but found the one in our room excellent. Lovely views from our balcony and having a car park right in front of the lift was perfect as it saved us walking far. Loading and unloading the car was great. Loved being on the top floor. We loved the large apartment that had a full sized kitchen. Great location, very clean and stylish and by far the nicest modern apartments for the price. Overall OVR is fantastic and we had a very romantic and relaxing stay. We will recommend it to everyone thinking of planning a trip to Caloundra and we will be back to stay. Central location with easy access to beach,shops and restaurants. Quiet, clean and well equipped rooms. The whole stay was very enjoyable and pleasant ! Thanks. The room was much more than I expected - clean and modern with everything we needed. I would have loved an ocean view but did not ask for it, so all good. It was quiet - no late night noises and it was central to everything. My daughter and I had our first "girls weekend" and it was great!! We also felt very safe. I found the reception staff extremely helpful and obliging and OVR was in a very handy position at the end of the main shopping area and close to eating establishments. Great fish and chips nearby at at least 4 or 5 locations only minutes walk away. Would definitely stay there again if in the area. We receive a warm welcome each time we walk into reception .The location is great our car is parked when we arrive and is not used again untill we depart. Room was clean and view was good, we requested a sea view and could see a tiny bit of it but overall nice, quiet place. Very comfortable, clean & well appointed for the money. Friendly staff at reception. Will come again next month. The unseasonal rain limited my use of the hotel pool, jacuzzi and roof top barbecues which would other wise been a fantastic bonus! All looked amazing!. One of the reasons I chose this place is that it said the pool was heated. It was freezing! Perhaps they only heat it at certain times of the year , if so that should be clarified. That is the only reason I don't give the place ten out of ten and would still stay there again. There was nothing that we didn't like. Shower over bath was very cramped and soap holder was in the way. Hole in the wall where somebody had flung back door handle in the hallway and also bathroom. The books on the table smelt like they had been in moth balls or someone had thrown up on them therefore not inviting to read Could of done with a spa in the room...just saying its not a huge issue but would of been nice as we were celebrating our 1st anniversary without kids in tow like the year b4. Only one small housekeeping matter that we have notified the incoming servicing staff member to be pass on to the plumbing staff. I suspect all will be sorted out!. N/A. Only a very trivial thing hardly worth mentioning but a better broom would not go astray :). There is nothing I could complain about all my needs where met above and beyond. The pillows are too hard, and need to have at least 2 types in the room, (2 hard 2 soft). The shower leaked past the shower door, and made the bath mat too wet each shower, mold evident on walls,and floor. Nothing. Nothing. could not fault anything. Everything was fine. was abit expensive for just one night. the fold out couch was really hard its felt like there wasnt even a matress on it just could feel springs but we didnt care!. Nothing that I can even think of. Nothing I would highly recommend this hotel. I asked for a high up room with view of ocean, at first I got 2F, dark small room overlooking busy front street. When I reminded them of my booking request the guy at the desk said they didn't have any of those rooms available which wasn't true because they weren't full. Then the lady at reception said she had a 6F room overlooking the pool so I moved into it which was hot with the afternoon sun but I kept the curtains closed in PM and a/c on so it was cool. N/A. Completely unrelated but the monty's up the road was disgusting and staff were completely unprofessional. no hairdryer in room would have preferred if gym was on same floor as swimming pool. pillows were really not good- had to buy one from the shops, should have bought my own. bathroom could have been a little bigger, but that's a very minor criticism. Not many complaints except the dishwasher was faulty. Having to leave OVR. i had to leave. Doors make a lot of noise down the hallways, loud enough to wake you up. Nothing. We thought we had booked a one bedroom apartment with kitchen facilities, so next time we'll look a little more closely when booking. No personal check in after 3pm on a Sunday. Have to leave it empty ;-). The room had a few stains in the carpet, marks on the walls, a cracked mirror in the bathroom & our room over looked dilapidated homes with no Ocean Views as described in the name of the resort. Nothing to complain about. Having to purchase more tea/coffee and towels if we needed it, never had to do that before in a 'resort' or hotel. Weather was terrible/very wet - nothing could be done about that. Room was good but the outlook not so good!.
